Just booked a long weekend in Mexico City with some old teammates to see the USMNT qualifier in March. The price of the travel package includes riot police escort to/from the bus to the stadium seats. No I'm not kidding.

Not sure. My friend is taking care of the arrangements through USSF. I would imagine it is the same people. The security for most games for the AO guys is coordinated in part by USSF.

My best buddy lives in Mexico City and went to the last USMNT game there. It was the 1-0 win last August. Of course, he didn't wear anything that would have identified him as an American and he didn't really cheer...he said the atmosphere was very hostile, especially with the US winning.

He went with his girlfriend, who is Mexican. I can't imagine going. I don't think I'd have the cajones.
