Michigan search reminding me of our own search with Dillingham’s raise

Why? He’s a really good coach, but has never had the pressure of a job like Michigan or recruited at the level it will take to keep them relevant. At 66 yrs old, he has his work cut out for him.
Aside from being much younger, sounds like Campbell at Penn State huh? I despise Michigan but think they did quite well with this hire.

Unfortunately, I agree. Especially considering the timing. Give him 4 or 5 years to clean up the program and rebuild its reputation. He is a perfect short term coach.

Yes and no. The age difference may prove important in recruiting.

I think his age and how long he’s actually gonna be there are certainly gonna be a questioned by those recruiting against him. Not so much in year one but moving forward, it may be negative factor in Michigan recruiting. Michigan might have to define a coaching waiting status.

Well, maybe the timing will be perfect. He’ll hold down the spot until Harbaugh’s college football ban is up and he wears out his welcome with the Chargers.
