Still haven't lost since NU beat them. Won in pretty dramatic fashion tonight.

Man, that was a shot to the gut for U of H. Missed two free throws that would have iced the game and then gave up the desperation three. I was cheering for the Coogs, but if that had been Northwestern on the losing end of that game, I'd still be the floor crying...

Once I saw that Sampson was coaching them, I couldn't support Houston. I don't know if the long break had anything to do with it, but Michigan has looked nothing like the team that won the B1G tourney in the NCAAs so far. They'd better improve if they plan to advance next week.

With the benefit of hindsight, big mistake to leave the inbounder unguarded. But Michigan Wolverines are Bounders anyway.

Michigan is showing me a lot of versatility. When they are hitting 3s, they are lights out (like against TAMU). Tonight, they couldn't throw it in the ocean from deep and still won with their defense. Free throw shooting is their Achilles heel. It cost them dearly against us, and almost bit them again tonight. Love the matchup with Loyola. Should be a good one!

Michigan was 13/19 at the line vs NU in a 9 pt loss. And for as bad as their FT shooting has been this year there are only 2 games all season that they missed more FTs than the losing margin: 7/11 in a 1 pt loss to Purdue and 11/15 in a 2 pt loss to LSU.

Yup. Michigan teams of the past would have been done the first weekend. They've really stepped up the defense this year.

13-19 isn't quite the whole story. Trailing by four with 5:00 left in second half, Wagner missed two FTs and Simpson missed front end of a 1-1. Maybe a different outcome if they tie it up there.

5/22 behind the arc on quite a few good looks was the real story. Michigan shot well inside the arc and well enough on FTs to win.
Uh, they just shot 4-22 from 3 last night and WON (Wagner was 0-7 with a ton of good looks). Those free throw misses changed the momentum of the game vs. NU. Almost did the same in final 2:00 vs. FSU and I was rooting hard for Michigan to hold on.
