How safe a bet would it be to buy tickets now for UK'S first two games in tourney? Most on here that I've noticed mentioning it seem to think if we are a one seed YUM is pretty much a lock. Daughter wants to go, neither of us have ever been to a tournament game, and would like opinions from those who know more about such things than myself. Thanks.

All sessions I guess, would want to see both games the cats play( provided they win the first game).
We won't know which session UK plays in until after selection Sunday. Perhaps late that same night. I think it will be easy to sell unused session tickets however.
How many teams will be playing in YUM? In other words how many games could you watch if you purchased full session tickets?
The first weekend's games are not tied to regionals, so it doesn't matter which region we are put in. If we are the #1 overall seed, we will be playing in Louisville. The only real question will be the second weekend. If Wisconsin is also a #1 seed and we are not the overall #1 seed, they might get the Cleveland games instead of us, but I doubt it.

I had four decent upper level tickets in 2012 and Murray State and Marquette were both playing in the morning session on Day 1 and UK was in the night session. Could barely give them away. i was very surprised but make no mistake people are there to see one team and one team only with perhaps a few notable exceptions if somehow Western KY or IU are also there.
That said it was a tough ticket when UK played. Not outrageous but tough.

Session 1 = 2 games Thursday day (~12 and 2:30)
Session 2 = 2 games Thursday night (~7 and 9:30)
Session 3 = winners of each games (Time TBD)
So, UK would play in either session 1 or 2 and assuming they win, session 3.
At this point, 100% lock. I purchased tickets (and plane tickets) back in November praying UK would win most of their games in December.
From looking at a lot of the current projects, we could expect to see Indiana or possibly Ohio State playing at Yum as well.

The regional is a bit more dicey. Common thinking seems to be that UK goes to Cleveland b/c it's closer than the South Regional (Houston). However, UK has always been viewed as a southern team and it was sent to Atlanta instead of St. Louis the last time that this came into play (2012), despite the fact that St. Louis is closer than Atlanta.
I'll caveat the above by saying that Cleveland is MUCH closer than Houston, and given that UK is projected to be the #1 or #2 overall seed, I would think proximity would trump "natural region", but one never knows when it comes to the committee's logic.

As much as I enjoyed the first two rounds in the Yum, it was nothing compared to the Friday night Sweet16 game against IU in Atlanta. A large group of BBN riding the Marta downtown from Buckhead taunting IU fans who knew it end was near was quite enjoyable.

Just purchased 2 tickets , for 3rd session on Saturday. Daughter is thrilled! Thanks again to everyone for the help, see some of you there I hope.
I'd consider it very, very likely UK will be in the Midwest with Wisconsin as the #2 seed. However, it doesn't matter which regional, if UK is a #1 seed they will play their first two in Louisville. I think the Cat's could lose a couple and still be a #1 seed because I think everyone else loses at least 1 more. Except Gonzaga though they do play at St Mary's tonight. Lose that game and I'd imagine they will take quite a tumble in the polls.
Kentucky will plat their first two games in Yum. There is no other scenario unless we fail badly. We will not.
I'm not sure anything is lock when Kentucky and the Selection Committee is concerned. They will probably have us playing the first round in Assembly Hall against Indiana.
They damn well better send UK to Cleveland after what they did in 2010. Everyone thought it was going to be Houston, but they packed UK off to Syracuse with the rationale that "it's closer".
The Atlanta/St. Louis to Lexington difference is 150 miles. The Cleveland/Houston difference is over 650 miles. Atlanta was UK's preference that year, and UK was the #1 overall seed. There's no question that Cleveland would be the preference this year.
I know that they're hypocrites, and make sh** up as they go along, but they just can't be that blatant.
UK would have to lose a few games before they end up in Houston. They will hopefully be the overall one seed and play at the closest regional to Lexington, which is Columbus.
You must be thinking Cleveland. The regionals this year are in Cleveland, Syracuse, Houston, and LA. UK's preference would be in that order.
