I don't know why this hasn't been discussed before. Both Hurley and Wojo would be good choices. There are several others out there also including Brey himself. Also you got to think Amaker, J. Dawkins, Chris Collins ,Quinn Snyder, Grant Hill, Christian Laettner, Shane Battier, Jay Bilas, Jay Williams, JJ Redick, Jeff Capel, Nolan Smith, Nate James, Chris Carrowell, Jon Scheyer or another member of the brotherhod that hasn't played at Duke yet. Outside the Duke family there's Brad Stevens and a number of DI posters that seem to know a lot about coaching a program such as Duke. I'm interested in knowing who all of you think is the next coach? OFC

I think their opinions are about as valuable as ours. I am sure Duke and Coach K have very little interest in that topic right now.

I hope Brad Stevens puts an application in. He had success at Butler and his now the coach of the Boston Celtics, which is a pro team.

You all do realize this will continue to be talked about and increase in intensity with each psssing year? Doesn’t matter how many threads it’s been, just get used to it. It’s what happens when the GOAT is closer to the end of his career.

As for Brey’s Opinion, I agree.

I grew up in New Jersey, o cane very close to going to St. Anthony. I have friends both you get and older who have.

Bobby Hurley has been under pressure his whole career it seems. Do you know how difficult it was playing for Hall of Famer Bobby Hurley Sr as his Son? Then go on to play for Hall of Famer Coach K (albeit he wasn’t a sure fire Hall of Famer at that time) and start for him as a freshman? And then to humble himself after an NBA career cut short due to a car accident, took a break and coach UNDER his little brother Danny? Only to probably surpass Danny in terms of HC success?

That Duke job is going to eat most coaches alive. It’s going to take a guy with balls to get it done there after K leaves IMO. I think Bobby can handle it.

Quinn Snyder would be a homerun. If he was in a bigger market than Utah people would talk about him the way they talk about Stevens

It’s cause he’s never met me. Can’t make a correct prediction if you don’t know all the options. I’ll remember this slight in my first year when we’re up by 65 pts with 4 mins to go at ND and I leave my starters in.

I don't feel like it should be Hurley. Is that sacrilegious? Brad Stevens is my favorite choice but I don't see it happening. Capel is probably my choice. Who knows....

It’s a tough call I think. I agree on Brad. I’m really not sure which former Duke player would do the best, but I do not envy them whoever it is. They have an extremely tough act to follow, and I think the criticism will be quick and harsh if they struggle

Agreed. Think if the job stays in the family then it’s going to be Wojo, Hurley, Snyder, Capel, Collins or Sheyer. Outside of the family, Brey, Stevens or pretty much anyone Duke wants outside a couple NBA coaches and possibly 2-3 college coaches.
