I think Roy got this. On the undercard, Nate Robinson gonna beat Jake Paul into the ground.

Both way past their prime but, IIRC, RJJ is not a 'natural' heavyweight. In his prime, he was one of the best I ever saw (as was Tyson). Think Tyson just being bigger may be the deciding factor. Neither one will be near their top cardio shape and neither have absorbed hard punches in a long time. It could end early for either boxer, IMO. Jones was almost impossible to hit in his prime but now? Hope neither gets hurt and a decent amount of dough is raised for charity.

Best outcome possible and well said.

Pick Tyson because of his power which I bet is still better than most younger HW boxing now. Roy’s speed has got to be gone due to age and that is what made him so great.

I was unsure of which way it would go, then i watched that Tyson 5 punch combo while training and it all came back to me. He is a ferocious killer who loves to hurt people. Roy is a all time great, but Mike got that craziness, I want to murder the dude in the ring mind set. Give me Crazy Mike. IF and it is a big IF, Roy can still box, he would be wise for him to get on his "bicycle" and box. If he tries to slug it out with Tyson, he will get KO'd. Best to stick and move, make Tyson chase and test his stamina. If he can do that, Jones will win. (If this is truly a fight and not for show)

This is not a real match folks, basically an exhibition. There won't be any headhunting going on. If there were, based on the training videos I've seen of Tyson lately and considering the huge skill dropoff by Roy even before he retired, Roy, as gifted as he once was, wouldn't make it out of the 1st round. With the oversized gloves they are planning to use, this will be a slumber party pillow fight.

I had doubts at first. But Iron Mike is training way too hard for just a sparring match. Now if they come out in the body padding like his trainer was wearing, then I will concede. Tyson clearly stated, "This is not an exhibition or pretend fight, I am going to knock him out."

If I remember correctly, RJJ was great because he didn't get hit much and could deliver some power.

At the end, when he got hit he got knocked out. And his decline seemed to happen overnight.

Tyson could take a punch and had some pop in his.

Pray for RJJ.

I am just glad I get to see 2 GOATS I grew up watching fight one more time because frankly I thought Tyson would be dead by now.

If the fight goes past the 6th round, its all for Jones. I can't see how people think Tyson could keep his composure against Jones for 6-12 rounds. Tyson would absolutely pmmel him, and it would be inside 5 rounds. Other than that, it would look like a bull chasing the matador. https://www.miketysonvsroyjones.com/

In his prime Tyson was a savage. A pitbull intent on sinking his teeth into you and shaking you apart. But in HIS prime, Jones was impossible to hit and had blurring hand speed and enough power to knock you out. A much better pure boxer than Tyson ever dreamed of being.

But power lasts a lot longer than speed. Jones is maybe my favorite fighter ever but unless he justs runs away the enire bout he's gong to get busted up.

I really got into boxing when i went to college because a couple of guys on my section were amateur boxers. Roy Jones, Jr was in the early portion of his career (won his first title the month i was done with undergrad in Dec 1992), but he was must see TV in his prime (basically the entire decade of the 90s and into the early 00s). His only loss in his first 50 fights was a DQ against Montell Griffin. They fought again a few months later and he knocked Griffin out in the 1st round. But once he hit fight 51 he dropped off a ton. Going 5-7 in his next 12 (including fight 51) that included two 3-fight losing streaks. Even with that bad stretch, he ended up 66-9 (47 KOs) and closed out his career 12-1 albeit against mediocre competition.

True boxing legend.

I think the exhibition match is going to be a fluff match, Tyson even admitted as such, but with the way he is training, I think he is preparing to come back for a few more fights. I don't think he liked how his career ended. He's gotten his life together and I think this exhibition is just a setup to gauge interest in something bigger.
