I would hope they wouldn't hire a coach based on keeping one All-American home. Would love to see Millhof finish his career as a senior (including all current OU wrestlers), but I'm sure there's going to be fallout regardless. Best bet is to take the best fit for the program.Don't be shocked if Lightner gets the job if he stays!
I do not know anything about Michael Lightner as a coach. He was a very good wrestler and from Oklahoma. However, he has the appearance of being "the old guard" and I would think OU would be looking for a new direction in the program and that does not include his hiring. Any of several assistant coaches including Roselli, Hahn, Mark Smith Jr, Jordan Leen would bring excitement to the program which is needed to turn it around. I want them to turn around and provide stimulus to the Big 12.No don't think they would. Gotta look long term!
