Regardless of where one sides on an issue (not just this, but literally anything), this is why things that don’t need an immediate 911 style response shouldn’t be voted/decided on in such haste after such an emotionally charged event.
Rational, non-wacko leftist people don’t need time to know that defunding the police was a stupid idea.

I support alternative solutions to over policing communities, obvious systemic problems of police brutality and the militarization of police departments. I'm not opposed to reviewing procedures and making constructive changes. That's always a good process to have in place.

The people who thought defunding the police is the answer - and really thought about it and expected it to work - are the same people who think that they can solve education reform. It’s a bunch of clowns who don’t understand the complexity in the system.
You could go a LONG way in fixing both by cutting back the power of unions. Funny that the ones who defend unions are the same ones bitching about systemic inequalities.
