I just mortgaged my house for George Strait tickets to take the wife. It is a bucket list show for her.

Minneapolis is one of the large U.S. cities I have not yet been to.

Any recommendations on downtown hotels? Prefer something historic, think Seelbach or Chicago Palmer House but not opposed to more modern. Also prefer something within walking distance of U.S. Bank Arena.

I can of course Google but looking for personal recommendations.

TIA!

Try George Floyd Square around 11 p.m. Heard the entertainment is on fire!

Airbnbs in this neighborhood are cheap.

I understand he’ll be debuting a song to celebrate the state’s proud new cultural identity: “Mogadishu By Morning” followed by “All My Exes Live In Prisons in Texas”

I used to work up there quite a bit. Interesting fact: it's the only city I've ever been where I've been randomly attacked.

As far as the hotels, I really like "The Hotel Minneapolis", which Marriott now calls "The Emery". It was built into a former bank, so it's a really old building, but the rooms are very modern.

Regarding food; I'd actually argue it's a pretty crappy food town as people from Minnesota wouldn't know good food if it hit them in the mouth, but here would be my list:
  1. Manny's Steakhouse (their version of Ruby's)
  2. Stella's Fish Café & Prestige Oyster Bar (just a hair outside of downtown, but cool place)
  3. Murray's (Kind of an old school Minneapolis place)
  4. Grumpy's (This is fine dining for the locals, meaning it's bar food and lots of tater tots)
  5. The Oceanaire (high end chain seafood restaurant, but still a nice experience)
  6. Bombay Palace (Indian)
  7. Ike's (really good at the airport. Ha!)
