How about that? I thought MSU would not give us the free passes that our OOC teams have been giving us and they promptly plunk Gray, walk Felker, give up a single to Burkes, and hit Pitre to give us a run.

After Gilliam tries to hit off of his wrists and pops up, WaldSchmidt singles to right and scores 2.

Apparently this ambidextrous superstar has never pitched in a game below 70 degrees. WOW! Could explain the rough start and location issues.

Darn 4-2 and we leave the bases loaded. Not getting timely hitting.

Pitre's error causes us to lose Williams. I hate to see that. He's got to get one out on that ball. Instead of two outs and a runner on 2nd, we get bases loaded and one out (I'd put Williams' last walk looked like a frustration walk.

"4 straight strike outs for the Wildcats". You know I am sick of hearing that in SEC play. Same as last year.

10 strikeouts for the game. Two strikeouts in the 7th with a runner in scoring position. We also had a pop up to 2nd with a runner in scoring position. We are taking small ball to the limit.

"Three strikeouts in the inning" to end the 8th. We did get a nice single with a runner on 2nd to tie it up.

A lineout with a runner on 2nd again. Two down. Followed by a wild pitch putting Gilliam at 3rd and two outs. Followed by a walk off wild pitch. Amazing but good.

Mason Moore and Seth Chavez were huge in this one. The bullpen continues to be a real strength of this team.

Agree, I went for the 1st five innings, after a terrible start, MSU's switch pitcher was really tough, has a lot of velocity and movement on the ball. But pulling out the W is the kind of game that will help get you in the NCAA tournament. Kentucky doesn't have a really top end pitcher, but a lot of depth, like we saw last night.

At the beginning of the week, I was hoping for a split of the four games with Indiana and Miss State. Mission accomplished! Now hoping for 2 of 3 series win over MSU.

Hopefully our pitching depth will help us over these next 2 games. We still have Hagenow, Nove, Giles and Strickland available out of the pen today and I’d think Chavez would be available tomorrow as he only threw 18 pitches.

My vote is for 6 or 7 innings from Bosma so we only need 1 or 2 of those guys and we have the rest plus our normal Sunday relievers available tomorrow 😀

I want a sweep...I think it's possible too.

Hard to overstate how important that win was last night. Poor hitting night, but our pitching was (for the most part) very tough. Even though we struck out a lot, our plate discipline was very good. We don't swing at a bunch of bad passes.

I think this series is critical to UK getting into the NCAAT. Hoping for a sweep, but critical to get the series win at a minimum.
