Missing Amari Williams type of center play

We are missing Amari Williams, the big center from last year- we would be much different with on offense. Think about how many times he was practically playing "point center" on offense especially when Lamont Butler got hurt. I think that out Mr. Quintance could really take his passing game on offense to the next level if he would channel him some Amari Williams. I think that Pope relies on that type of center for his offense to truly succeed.

If Pope NEEDS an Amari at center for his offense to succeed, then it's a bad offense. Centers with those skills aren't common.
Moreno can get there. I see the vision is there and he’s getting more comfortable. If I’m coping, just let me have it for tonight.

I posted something similar weeks ago, and I was scoffed. People said Amari sucked. He did not suck. I’d take him over any of the bigs on the roster right now (MAYBE not Moreno given his long term upside).

It always made me sad that Amari was the blame all the time. He loved being a Wildcat so much and he did far more than most fans appreciated

I did as well! I was not throwing shade at his game at all- obviously would like to see our centers running in a high post offense, passing to cutters and driving the lane like Amari did so well.
Agree Haggin
Pope had Ali Khalifa at BYU and Amari last year filled the point center so well. These guys pulled the opposing center out of the paint allowing for back cuts and better chance for offensive rebounding.

MM and BG played well as a tandem tonight. They are not the Ali/Amari type point centers but not weak links either. MM is improving tremendously.
