I agree completely with this. Even Cruise's misses like Oblivion were actually pretty good movies. He just has an intensity about his acting, like Al Pacino only from the suburbs. He's not angry against a rigged system in an inner-city hellhole like Al was in his films, more like angry because his Saturday morning soccer game was cancelled kind of white kid Al Pacino. It works for him, though. Will never understand the hate for Cruise. He's one of the few movie stars left and has been putting out solid content since the '80s. In a forty year career, not everything is going to be a homerun and there will be times where he zigged when he should've zagged. He's worked in every genre and with every modern legendary director except Tarantino, which nearly happened with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
See I'm the opposite, I'm always just meh about the MI movies. I watch em because they are action packed and blockbusters, but something about them I just don't know. Can't explain it.
I just heard on the radio today that this movie won't be out for a year and they are already filming part2Mission impossible 2 was trash. John Woo made that into a fight movie with barely any mystery or intrigue.
The rest have been excellent.
And yes Tom Cruise might be a nut, but he usually makes a damn good movie.
Ugh but it's a part one. Won't be finished to 2025/2026.
Can't wait to see this. The rare series where each movie is better than the last.
