Great day for West Virginia, a teacher beat him which makes it even sweeter. Teacher also a woman which is a good thing as I think there needs to be more women politicians.
Yes. And that mentality leads to the same place as "dont mess with the police unions".
In mitchs case though he was stupid. He needed to work with teachers to find a rate that made them happy and the state could afford.

The numbers are the same union or no union. Unity is subjective. A union privides a unity of message but that doesnt mean it speaks for the needs of all of its members. The union decides what member needs are addressed.
I am just saying that the teachers union could be detrimental to teachers.
I look at it like this. We have two political parties. Although recently it's not been this way, for the most part you will get things done quicker with just two parties because you come to a majority decision easier. In other nations, you have a multi-party system. Everyone wants different things. Hard to get to a consensus.
My point, Unions listen to all its members but must decide what to go forward with and get accomplished. If no union, then you could have 100's of different voices speaking out. Not good in my opinion.

Seriously, public unions are ********. They can vote out their bosses, vote themselves into a raise, etc
you know the Unions allow ****** teachers to keep their jobs and if those teachers get into any trouble, the board just moves them to a different school or different county. The Teachers Union is a joke.

You do realize that not every state/district allows for "collective bargaining" with its teachers, right? Thus the reason for a union.

Look at Lincoln County right now for your answers. The state is about to take it over again.
principal under investigation was quietly taken away from her position by the Lincoln county superintendent (who is now gone) and placed as a teacher at another school in the county before the State concluded their investigation and punishment (still ongoing). The good ole boy system here, also the principal’s husband is an employee in the Lincoln BOE. It will come out once the state posts their complete findings and punishment that has been postponed due to Corona.

You do realize teachers and public employees can vote their bosses out of office, right? Thus the reason they shouldn't have unions.

I'm not even debating their effectiveness or pros and cons of systems in place, I just don't think they should be allowed.
