Some teams aren’t 100% man to man defensive squads. We just aren’t build to defend straight up. Cant get off picks. No shot blockers. Got to find a defense that works. Match up or 2/3.
Can’t get over picks. Not physical enough in spots. Communication is poor on switches. Too many straight line north and south drives. Just not in our dna right now.
Do have the length and quickness to play a zone. Make these opponents go side to side. Shade the shooters.
Right now we are giving up layups and open threes. Mix in some zones. Keep working on the man. Change the scout on us.
I saw Coach K switch to a primary zone defense late one year and the change led to a FF.
