The long goodbye has ended. The Mets’ “Franchise” is gone.
Tom Seaver, the greatest of all Mets who dropped out of public life in March of 2019 after being diagnosed with dementia died early Monday. Accoring to family sources, Seaver, 75, died peacefully at his home in Calistoga, Calif., from complications from Lyme disease, dementia and COVID-19.
He leaves behind 311 victories, 3,640 career strikeouts, three Cy Young Awards and countless millions New York baseball fans who forever cherish the memories of the Miracle Mets 1969 championship season and his starring role in it.

Not sure who this southpaw is but it’s not Seaver. He was a righty.

I'm guessing you've never participated in the RIP threads before. Most of the other people pictured in this thread aren't Tom Seaver either. To satisfy your curiosity about the one I posted, that was the very talented Jerry Koosman, who was a Met teammate of Seaver.

Ever since I was a kid, I've really wanted a Jerry Koosman rookie card, but I've never been able to bring myself to spring for one due to its high price. I simply don't understand why it's so expensive, since Koosman was never a major star. Oh well, maybe some day. :)
