Player of the Game by far.

His hustle and fight encouraged others.

Honorable mention: BG played his best game of the year.

Second Honorable mention: Lowe started off bad but got better.

Thank you MO D for the FIGHT. You are the spark we needed and why we won tonight!

And Lowe!!!
Lowe is great when he plays like a pg, but both him and Aberdeen resort to me-ball way too much.

Aberdeen should have learned his lesson after that debacle in the uNC game where he personally turned a 6 point lead into a 2 point defecit late, because he thought he was going to carry the team.

I knew it was going to be a tough transition for Lowe to adjust to having players around him, he didn't have that at Pitt, but sooner or later he's going to need to look for the dish opportunities in the paint.

We're not even an NIT team right now, but I needed this win for my sanity. I have enough stress at work. IU is not a good team, so losing was an unacceptable option. Glad Pope pushed the right buttons in the 2nd half.
He played physical defense I will take that over the offense

I said when we signed him he was my favorite player because he killed us on the boards at Bama and he could fix a lot of the rebounding and defensive woes we had last year. Tonight we saw that play out.
I’m not going to say that but his best game as a cat

Might've found some identity tonight. Muck it up, scrappy, win the physical battle and crash the glass on both ends. Those are all Mo D traits and that's not a coincidence. We have a bunch of good athletes and almost no good shooters, but teams win that way. I'm sure it doesn't come naturally to Pope but at least tonight he and the team seemed to embrace it, in the second half especially.

Interestingly that's a style that would seem to fit Garrison a lot better than Moreno. BG might get tossed from a couple games but there's no doubt he thrives on emotion.

Hard to know how JQ fits in with a dogfight mentality until we see him play some but physicality should be no issue for him.

And if we can get even a little momentum back and win a few games in a row, the shooting will start to improve, the camaraderie, effort, vibes, everything, you just know it.

I'm also happy the new guys on the team got to play in a game where Rupp was rocking and had their backs 100%. I was watching on TV but every tipped pass, steal, offensive rebound, and player diving on the floor seemed to reignite the crowd.

Glad to see BG bring it for once. That said, his turnover with 4 minutes left made me so mad. Got it back to 7.

Sorry Jeff but saying that is simply stupid. You do realize that we had two of our best players back in this game pretty much at full strength. That we had a defensive scheme. That he coached with intensity of they played with intensity. Yes we are flawed, but acting like this team cannot make the tourney, much less the NIT is wrong. Held Gonzaga get by 40 in Michigan State barely beat the Penn State team. They got destroyed by Indiana.

I just heard Mo's postgame radio interview, and he could be emerging as a vocal leader. He got on the other players in the locker room and told them to find the one thing they're good at and to do that one thing well. His things are rebounding and playing hard. Hustle is contagious, so maybe this game is a small turning point on the effort and hustle side.

Nah, this isn’t a good team right now, they beat a meh IU team at home.

That first half was easily the worst offensive performance I've ever seen from a UK team.

They can fix it, but this isn't a tournament team, not even close, not the way they are playing right now.

The defense is decent, but even with Mo and Garrison in the game for long stretches, we got beat on the glass again.

Making shots fixes a lot of problems, maybe they will eventually become a decent shooting team, but we suck right now.
