I've reported a spammer two or three times now, but the moderators have done nothing to remove the posts or the poster.

What do I need to do to get a moderator to respond?

First, take a deep breath. If you reported a spammer and it really was one that person is gone. Your report this morning was at 3:44 am. It would be nice if you gave us a little time before becoming upset.

Not logging on and posting would be a wonderful start.

Pretty sure the OP is a car warranty telemarketer. He's probably scraping the data in this thread even as we post so every time you get one of those calls, think of him.

That wasn't the one I was referring to.

If you bothered to look, you would see that that report (3:44AM eastern time) came AFTER I made this thread (3:09AM Eastern time), because I found another spammer.

The one I'm referring to, I reported a few weeks ago, then again a few days ago, then again last night.

Nothing was done.

I knew I'd look like an @sshole when I posted this. I was ready for the blowback. I'm prepared to die on this hill.

Let me first say- thanks for reporting them.

I just looked all the way back to July for people you suspected of being spam and they were all banned. 4-5 people at least.

Let me be a little more clear just to be sure. The report you made last week for example was on a post from OCT-27. Someone bumped an old thread up and you saw it, maybe again. That member was banned last year but we missed a post of his when we cleaned it up. It's gone now and there could be others.

Next time you encounter a spam post, please send me one Bitcoin, and I'll ask the mods to expedite the process, smooth the way for action on your behalf, etc. YWIA.

P.S.- Just to clarify, that is one Bitcoin per reportable post, not per request.

Sorry, I don't have a bitcoin account. I'll have to send you cash instead. Hope that's ok!?!

Did you remove all 17 spam posts from the other one I submitted?

I generally don't go too far back. 99% of the time those threads are dead forever. retiiks (the poster you're talking about) is not a typical spammer so to speak and that's why I hesitated banning him for a while. He's from the UK and they do **** different over there. His post were always on topic so it's not like he just flooded threads with links. He posted here, he posted on the football board too. He was there giving his condolences to John Schlarmann's family it's just that each reply had a link. Weird situation.

He claimed to be from the UK in one post.

He also claimed to be from Las Vegas in another post, in a thread about visiting Las Vegas.

And he claimed to be from somewhere else in another thread about another place.

I think he claimed to be from Kentucky, too.

All of his "on topic" replies were very generic and non-specific, like a chatbot.

As I said when I submitted the reports, every single one of his posts included an embedded link. Every. Single. One.

As I also said when I submitted the reports, spammers are getting smarter in how they operate. I've seen this type of spamming on several other forums in the last year or so.

Oh, and also one more thing: The same poster, retiiks, was doing the exact same thing on other Rivals sites. He was on the Rutgers Rivals site claiming he was from Phoenix, and from Paris France, and from the UK, and every single one of his posts there also had embedded links.
