My son is 5’10-ish and is 13. He’s one of the tallest kids in his middle school. Hard to imagine a kid the same age being a foot taller, but it is possible, I guess.
It’s not just his height it’s his athleticism and coordination too. Obviously most of these are the top kids and are further mature and advanced at their ages but still. He’s was dunking like LeBron was in HS his junior to senior year.

There is a kid in my soon to be 4th grade sons class that is 6' tall. He is also big bodied. The dad is like 6'7 and mom probably 6' or 6'1. He is hard to game plan for in bball. Isn't very mobile but I'd guess he weighs 150.

I know. What a coincidence.
That was my nickname in school too.
Weird.
Sounds like my nickname if I grew up here in Chicago instead of in KY (my metabolism is insane and when I first hit 6 foot in middle school I was around 130😮 now I'm 6'1 175 with a dad belly and mad that my coworker won't play me 1 on 1 for the 20 bucks we agreed on 😂)

That’s just unreal to me. I know it happens, but just wow. My son has always been the tallest or one of the tallest in his class. Right now there are just a couple in the entire middle school taller than him. And all of them are hovering around that 6’0 mark right now. A kid 3-4 years younger being his height is crazy. That kid probably ends up 6’8+ with his parents being that height. My kid’s doctor said he would be between 6’2 and 6’5 when he stopped growing and I’m just shy of 6’0 and his mother is short. He has cousins and uncles over 6’0 on both sides of his family tree, so I guess that’s where his height comes from. On his mom’s side he has a cousin that is 6’4 and a distant cousin that is 6’7.

His main sport is soccer, and we are just hoping he at least clears 6’0, because he’s been told by refs and coaches that if he is a 6’0+ keeper, he has a good shot at a scholarship. I don’t know that much about soccer, but apparently height/length really matters for keepers. He needs to slim down some too, he’s built like an O-lineman, but doesn’t like football. LOL!
