I’m sorry but you can’t pay me enough to hold a guy back from mouthing a ref. Either be a man and accept the consequences for talking to a ref like that or control yourself but I think it’s ridiculous to have someone”holding him back”.
I think it’s more of the assistant going “hey you already cost us a T at the worst time, please shut up so we don’t get another one and make this game not winnable at all.”

Maybe Hurley turns out like Donovan who got lucky with the Horford and Noah team that went back to back.
He never made it back to the FF before his jump to the NBA.

Donovan definitely did not flame out after the two titles. He did make it back to the FF as the number 1 overall seed in 2014 and had three other Elite 8 appearances after the titles.

Yep UF was the best team in 2014 and beat us 3 times. I was dreading having to face them again in the title game… their loss to UConn was shocking.

Anger management classes, Mr. Hurley, and soon. Too bad Bobby Knight still wasn't around to help him out with that problem.

I was the “get back” coach this past season. I gave up after the second game….for the above reasons. DC was yelling at stupid stuff, do dumb things, get dumb rewards

Shocking, indeed. Not-so-fun fact: Higgins (and Sirmons) officiated that game (at least since 2009, SEC teams never won a Final Four game Higgins officiated). I felt that had we had the opportunity to face Florida in the title game, we would have not lost to them for a fourth time.

If I was a ref, first game out of the coaches box yelling and such, would have been a T. I would have explained to him the court is for players, his box is here, (showing the boundaries) and telling him one more violation and you will be T'd up. 2nd T he would have been ejected. Then before game2 if I had his game, I would get both coaches (not to pick on one) and tell them the coaches box rule will be adhered to for this game. Same situation. He would have been watching all 3 games from the locker room.

I will say this, he ain't no Bobby Knight. Knight was old school and got on refs for bad calls or at least ones he thought were bad. Hurley starts at the tip and keeps on, often doing it with a condescending attitude. Most of us Kentucky fans' dislike for BK is mostly because he coached at our one-time biggest rival , Indiana. As I've gotten older I look at him differently than when he was coaching. Granted, I know he went overboard with stuff. But compared to Hurley, Knight is like meat and taters while Hurley is more like cotton candy. Many of Knight's former players are fiercely loyal to him which to me says he was just a tough old school coach while Hurley seems more like a spoiled brat.

I forgot about his run in 2014.

Dan might go a little too far with it, but some of these officiating crews deserve some of the heat.

I watched the video thinking maybe you were right, but I honestly didn't see one call in that video that was really even questionable. If anything, he should've been T'd up a LOT sooner than he was.
