Jarred Vanderbilt- #4 2017
Thon Maker #5 2015
Terrance Ferguson #7 2016
Billy Preston- #8 2017
Jamal Murray #18 2016
Isaac Humphries-#25 2016
Matur Maker #27 2017
Jalen Coleman Lands #39 2015
Mark Vital- #49 2016

Dallas Prime U, TX- Terrance Ferguson #7- 2016- Billy Preston- #8 2017 - Mark Vital- #49 2016
Prime U has a trio of top players in the nation. Ferguson is a player that can beat you off the dribble and will posterize opponents. Billy Preston, has a great low post game but if you sag off he will make the 15 footer consistently. Mark Vital is a player that will end the game with 18 points, 12 rebounds and it will be a quite 18 and 12. Very hard working player and does a lot of the intangibles that don't show up in box score.

La Lumiere School, IN- Isaac Humphries-#25 2016 Jalen Coleman Lands #39 2015 Brandon Cyrus # 102 2016 Nolan Narain #144 2016
The preseason No. 4 team in the nation is led by Jalen Coleman, an Illinois signee. Coleman is joined by Isaac Humphries. Humphries is a great talent being recruited by every major college program in country. Finished regular season in the top 20 in many polls.

Orangeville Prep, Canada- Thon Maker #5 2015 Jamal Murray #182016 Jalen Poyser # 84 2015 Matur Maker #27 2017

This team has what many consider the top player in the nation: Thon Maker, a versatile 7-footer who is being recruited by every major program in country, including UK and Louisville. He has a talented group around him in Jamal Murray and his younger brother Matur Maker, who has been emerging of late. UNLV commitment Jalen Poyser is another player to watch.

Prolific Prep, CA- Josh Jackson #1 2016- Josh is a high flyer and his defense is second to none. His youtube highlights are something to be seen and he is very unselfish, but will take over game when he feels necessary.

Quality Education, NC- Papa Ndiaye #81 2015 Nate Grimes #118 2015- Quality Education is one of the hardest working teams and have many significant wins this year over Huntington Prep, Orangeville Prep, Sunrise Christian to name a few. Watching Coach Pitts is worth the price of admission.

Sunrise Christian Academy, KS- Jermaine Haley # 51 2015 Dupree McBrayer #136 2015 Roosevelt Smart #148 2015
As soon as Sunrise Christian takes the floor [/B]their team has chemistry apparent. They have proven to be a major force over the years and their coach gets the most out of his players. They like to play an extremely tough schedule to be prepared for a national tournament.

Victory Prep, TX- Jarred Vanderbilt- #4 2017- Vanderbilt has a game very similar to David Robinson with greater range. Victory is a very disciplined team and wants to prove they are a team that belongs on the same stage as many of these national powers

Waiting on 8th team

If you want a team from Texas, get Plano West (#1 in the State). They have two guys committed to Texas A&M that UK fans will get to know beginning next season.

Wait a minute. So there are two teams invited from Texas to play in this "National Championship" tourney and neither is even the best team in the state? Am i missing something here?

OP...I like what you are doing here and wish you much success with this for years to come...but you need to change the name of the tourney and quit trying to sell it as a "national championship" deal. You are making it sound like the top 8 teams in the country will be playing and an eventual, universally recognized National Champion will be crowned. When basically you are just inviting SOME of the best teams in the country...and some of them are accepting and then just getting together for a "King of the Bluegrass" type tourney between 8 random teams.

I get you Kaizer, but I am not the coordinator of this. I do know the man who is and he asked me to publicize it. Please know that this is the first attempt at this, and it came together in a very short time frame. As word gets around it will expand and hopefully become a 'national' tournament. Just know it should grow from here, as the coordinator/organizer is the same man who has organized Hoopfest for several years-which has now expanded into Mustang Madness and the 'Hoopfest' held in Lex in Nov. Gotta give credit for trying...

So I guess Oak Hill didn't make the cut. Or Montverde. Change the name of your event.

Actually, I think there are something like seven teams in Texas ranked #1 at any given time. They do it by classes, and I think it goes to 6A, with the private and parochial schools separated into a completely different division called TAPPS. Texas has some fantastic players, but their whole playoff format pales in comparison to the Sweet Sixteen.

Remember the future Aggies Tyler Davis and DJ Hogg though. They are going to be heard from on the college level. They have a third top 100 player going to Ohio State. Saw them play last Friday night. They are the most talented public high school team I've ever seen, and I've seen some good ones out here.

OP, was that the "press release" or your words? If that was a press release, it was terribly written. If your words just to get it on the board then that's understood.

Not my words or a press release but an email I got at 4am this morning. I'm sure it was probably hasty written to get the word out, which is what I wish to do with this post because he knows I post on here, More concise info will be posted as it comes out.

The man working this is also conducting a regional tourney in Ky, which had to be postponed and condensed due to last weeks snow, so he's 'burning the candle at both ends'.

I wish the best of luck to him and hope it works out

Will it be an actual tournament, or another of the "hoop fest" type events? It is really cool that McCracken and Marshall County are bringing in these top players every year. If I still lived back there, I would be at this event for sure.

ColonelCatFan...like i said in my original post, i support the idea of this tourney and what they are trying to accomplish. I just think it is misleading. Again, I hope this year's tourney is a success and leads to a universally recognized National Championship Tourney someday. That would be outstanding.

Kudos to the dude for putting that all together. Not an easy task by any means. And i am glad it is going to be held in Kentucky. But i still don't like the name or the idea of marketing it as a National Championship Anything as the format stands now. The end doesn't justify the means. Be open and honest about what it is and what it hopes to be. People will respect that.

Good luck to you, him and the tourney!

Thanks Kaizer, and I do understand what you are saying. I will mention this to him. I didn't even know about this one until I saw my email this morning, so I am pretty sure there are a lot of finishing touches to go on this

Tell him that if he markets this 1st tourney falsely as a "National Championship" and people flock to it only to find out it is merely a National Invitational Tourney...then they will not be so likely to flock to the next one.

I believe the legal precedent for this case is derived from the federal case of The People vs. The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
