No doubt! I can see how easy it would be to confuse a 6x6 bull elk with a whitetail doe! Give the guy a break!!
I think he should get another chance, after all he's a good kid.
The guy certainly is a moron - he's a moron if he thinks anyone will believe the "I'm too stupid to know any better" defense. He thought they were doe and managed to somehow shoot two of them? Sure....

Oh boy. The officers on the show really listen to the hunters story and body language. They charge accordingly.

I see elk all the time just north of Phillipsburg. Not much of a stretch to have them in Centre County. Clearfield and Clinton Counties are big elk counties bordering Centre.
