Vasquez has been so complementary of Duke, K, Cameron, and our fans… He said Duke is his favorite place to play. Away from the game, he was a really good dude.
I don’t remember having much dislike for any of their players. Maybe I did and have forgotten, but the fans and Williams, I can do without
Another white guy disliked. I didn’t like Blake either, but it was because he was a major thorn to us.
I would have loved to have had him. He had one of the best lines. When asked about rivalries, he said Duke was, not the Holes. Got to like him for that one line there.

My reasons for disliking him were threefold. First, the steal from Jason Williams. Second, the Jersey popping. Third, Johnny Rockets
Vasquez protested every.single.call. Plus he always had that whiny look on his face. Had he gone to Duke the hate would be legendary.
No proper thread for this but I'm watching the Duke MSU semifinal from 99. No way that team should have lost. Brand was a monster. And Battier and Langdon and Avery. Still gets me that we lost. I forgot that Battier was that good as a soph. And Avery would have been so good if he returned. Still, it allowed the young guys to develop so we could win a title 2 years later.

Our best player took 8 shots, their best player took 22. Avery stunk it up, and his childhood friend for UConn, had a career first half.
I was ok with Gary. Thought he was very entertaining and pretty good coach. I loved when Md.was playing bad instead of yelling at the players on the floor he would turn around and yell at the players on the bench. I kind of miss him. Sweat Gary sweat, sweat Gary sweat. One of the all time greatest chants by the Crazies. OFC
I can’t watch that game again. I did pull up the box score, and was surprised that Brand was 5-8, while Hamilton was 10-22. We just failed to get Elton some chances the last 10 minutes. That team may have gone down as the greatest Duke team ever had Elton took 5-6 more shots. Avery was 3-12, and IIRC, he missed a few layups.
After watching the game again, let me know if I’m right.
I'm watching the MSU semifinal. I don't watch the games that we lost ha. Brand and Battier were the best frontcourt combo ever.
I disdain Len Elmore. I can't believe he hasn't been mentioned and we have posters giving Jay Bilas a hard time. OFC

I was also thinking about Dixon, and like you said it wasn't because he was an azz other than just a pain in one. He threw daggers it seemed like every time we played them. Hell of a player, just played for the wrong team.

I really despised Byron Mouton. Dude wouldn't do **** for 30 minutes, then hit a 3 and do this ridiculous flex-hop (yes, new word) and head bob back to halfcourt. What a preening cockwaffle.

Yeah Elmore has to be #1. John Gilchrist #2 and Tahj Holden/Dave Neal ties for the third spot. Three of those dudes were just jackasses and Neal was as dirty a player as I’ve seen in the past 20 years.
