Flo has always been bad at rankings. Remember when the Big 10 used flo's rankings for 1 season. I remember how terrible those rankings were and haven't attempted to look at them ever since. I'm guessing the big 10 thought the same thing because it was just that 1 year, and they switched back to intermat.

For me, the PFP rankings are especially ridiculous. All kinds of inconsistencies in it as compared to where wrestlers rank in their weight class
The PFP are just bad. Having Lockett and Vega in after less than 10 matches doesn’t make sense. Having them ahead of someone like Rocco who is a NCAA runner up makes less sense

And in the 2027 recruiting class rankings PSU should be #1. Having 2, 6, 8, 10, 94, 100 is better than 1, 17, 23, 47, and 48 in my mind. Even with how good Miller is having 4 in the top 10 outweighs 5 in the top 50. History shows that a few guys in the top 10 is better than 10 in the top 100. Elite talent matters

Yea I don't know how I feel about Melvin plus 17, 23 and 47 over PSU having 2, 6, 8, 10, 94, 100. Melvin is good enough where I think it is still fair even though I would probably flip them

Would you think the top guy’s NCAA points (plus an unlikely material addition from the remaining recruits) exceed the collective NCAA points from 2, 6, 8 and 10 (plus an unlikely material addition from the others)? Seems like that should be the relevant calculation to rank team recruiting. We have some stats fans here. What’s the data say?

I voted “other”. The most ridiculous thing about Flo’s rankings isn’t the rankings, it’s how seriously the rankers take themselves. I listened to them argue back and forth about PJ Duke the other night for 15-minutes and nearly pulled my hair out. “Our rankings are not a prediction, We have established protocols, blah blah blah”. Who cares!?

I think we all care to some point which is why there are multiple threads on the topic as we speak. Flo is doing a masterful job if you ask me. Not in the actual rankings. Those aren’t the best but in getting people to click and then talk about them. It’s generated a ton of dialogue which is the point of them doing the rankings

Back when Nolf stuck Imar in Champagne, the PA announcer used whichever ranking service was the higher rank when announcing the Illinois wrestler and then they used whichever was the lower rank for the PSU wrestler. I was sitting behind the somebody from the AD's office the time and mentioned it to him and he played dumb.
