If my math is right, Central has 20 seniors.
Any idea how many players go both ways?
They do have 20 seniors. That's been a big part of the storyline with them all along. Nearly all of those guys have significant roles on the team. A lot of them have been playing for Central for three years, and helped them get to the playoffs in 2014. Last year, they had a lot of injuries (including Martin Palacios, a big playmaker on both sides of the ball) and it derailed their season, although they were playing well at the end of the season anyway--they just didn't have enough to beat Forbush or West Stokes without those guys.

I'm not sure how many of them play both ways, I haven't counted, but I can tell you that they do play a lot of kids both ways. Their best linemen and skill players see time on both sides of the ball.

The main reason they've been successful is because of all of the experience. They don't beat themselves, and if you make a mistake, they've been making teams pay for it.

SC won 2 games by 1 MA had all convinci g wins. West Stokes pretty good and that score could been worse.

Buzz , Bears were pretty banged up last year coming outta the north Surry game wasn't they , this is the first Bears team in recent memory leaving that game injury free , agree on score for tomorrow night , wouldn't surprise me if it was by a little more , if they can stay healthy they gonna be nasty come playoff time

Last year MA had difficulty finding any kind of consistency on offense until late in the season. Not normal for a Kelly Holder coached team. Execution is much better this year and lots of athleticism at the skill positions. Will be a great game . Could be the only loss for regular season for the loser.

If this game was at Dobson...I would see the Eagles having a good chance for the win. Mount Airy usually plays tough at home. I will go with the Bears by 10 this week.

Bears looked strong !!!! Score was conservative , could have been worse, can't wait to see how the stats read, I look every game to the side lines and count 30 to 33 players and say to myself that they are thin and numbers are low but man are they solid from top to bottom , every player out there can flat out bring it , gonna be fun come end of year , don't see anybody playing them close in conference , this team is a blast to watch. They are gonna be crazy nasty come playoff time

If they play like that and keep improving, they'll have a chance. I thought it would be about a 10-14 point MA win, because they have more speed. But this was as much about the defense, if not more. Central couldn't block MA's defensive front at all. Gabriel King blew up about 10 plays by himself that I counted in the first half, and he wasn't the only one. Coach Southern (SC) flat out said that they couldn't make anything they'd practiced work tonight because they couldn't block MA.

When it was over, a lot of the Central players spoke to King in the postgame handshake. He was just beastly tonight.

MA was a lot better than they were when I saw them play North Surry last week, and they weren't bad against them.
