if TJ comes back i will stop posting on this site forever and will no longer root for my alma mater
Hm, Patterson's comments about the football stadium being Jurich Stadium isn't exactly accurate. Construction was near completion around the time of Tom's hire. Tom, however, did upgrade the hell out of it. I'm 50/50 on Jurich. He was the man. He'd get things back in order. However, Heird is doing a fine job. I won't throw a tantrum if either of them are the guy.
Pretty balanced take. They each have their pluses. Tom has tremendous experience, but returns are rarely as good as first times. And we might find Jurich doesn’t have the support of the common fan that many think.
As for Josh he’s young and hungry, he too is Louisville through and through. He should have support with the common fans and Denny’s camp. But he clearly doesn’t have the experience TJ had. And I say had because Tom has been out of it for a while and he lost respect throughout the industry. To the point a search firm handling Miami’s AD search threatened to back out if he was considered. That is a huge red flag for me.
Loved what TJ did here but sometimes you just move forward.
I still think a National search is the way to go.
I’d love to have the “PaPa Johns” part of the name dropped! I’d absolutely love it to be named “Schnellenberger Stadium“, but that would take a MAJOR boosters contribution!!

What does that mean specifically - (he) "has so many people by the balls"? The (huge) donors that went on record for the article aren't people that Jurich has control over - in fact both of them could buy and sell Jurich. And I'm not sure how long you've been a fan but if you are unable to accurately measure what Jurich did for UofL during his tenure - then you're simply not a serious person.
Jurich did great things. He was also in charge when everything went south. He loved the accolades when things were great....but a leader must accept responsibility when his people screw up.
It's possible to appreciate what he did and not to want him back.

I'd argue I'm a bigger fan than Lynn. He took his ball and went to Bellarmine because he didn't get his way. I don't care who is in charge or coaching....I still dish out the money for tickets as I did this morning to renew fball . I guarantee you it hurts me worse than Lynn....but it also means more.

A leader must accept responsibility for those under their charge no doubt but, that doesn’t mean that they should be fired. He was fired as part of a larger effort by grissom to take athletics down multiple pegs. Regardless, I’m not trying to re-litigate the circumstances around TJ’s departure.
My opinion is that - unless there are other high quality and experienced candidates that know how to turn an athletics department around - Jurich is no question the best and most qualified person for the job.
Hasn’t Dr. Lynn dropped UofL and now has embraced Bellarmine? Was he and Jurich that tight? You think Josh Heird could bring him back, or do we want him back?
We can debate the merits of Jurich without the condescension or juvenile commentary. To dismiss Jurich entirely is silly. UofL is in the AAC without him, you know this to be true. Dog on his loyalty, insult his lack of his oversight of HOF coaches, even point out his one bad hire. But don’t be a child.
TJ had no responsibility whatsoever for McGee’s misbehavior, or for that matter for whatever Johnson has been accused of doing. Despite numerous legal depositions and testimony under oath, there is still no evidence that Pitino was aware of the events in Minardi Hall, or engaged in payments to Bowen family.
Presidents, ADs HCs and assistant coaches are the ones who ultimately resign or get terminated whenever bad publicity (accurate or inaccurate), or investigations are initiated like the ones affecting UL.
Dr Ramsey and Tom Jurich were responsible for a huge amount of the success the University experienced during their reign of leadership. Yes, there were mistakes made, but I would welcome both back.

yes, because he brought down the university and i will not follow his path. he was a liar, a cheat, dishonest, and kept losers on the payroll. with him at the helm we are guranteed the Death penalty in the future. only a moron would want him back so with him at the helm to me the university as a whole would be morons and thus i'm not supporting anything to do with morons.

I say let him apply, interview him. Louisville in 1996 vs now is two different athletic programs. The history of success - and problems - are all there. Ask the tough questions, insist on candid and believable answers. And if his responses aren't good ones then you hire someone else.
TJ or Trump, they are the same type of people, they expect loyalty to cover up their sins and they are loyal to people who are douchebags, criminals and cheats. Tj is a loyalist and Loyalty is the worst trait a human can have because it means you overlook crimes, horrible deeds, broken laws, racism, bigotry and hate all becasue you are loyal. screw the boosters. they mean nothing in the grand scheme if they force you to hire bad people. Paterson in essence is trying to blackmail the school into doing what he wants. screw him. He should just give money to the school no matter what if he cares about the school. maybe he only cares about himself and his ego and being loyal to a friend who brought our university down.
I think Jurich wants to come back but it will be on his terms. He will want complete control. The Presidents office will stay out of athletics if he comes back. That is the only way he comes back.

I'll say this - after watching the NCAA commissioner hand a trophy to Bill Self and his five Level 1 violations I am struggling to care about $5k over 4 years for some nasty *** ho's.
The one thing everyone needs to understand there is no clean program in the P5. I used to think that was doable but I was stupid. The SEC has been the best at it in football now they are jumping in with both feet into basketball.
