Lunardi says Murray St. is out of the Big Dance. I think that is BS they went 16-0 in their conference and ranked right now in the top 25. However the NCAA is letting some of the power 5 teams in the Big Dance that are not even 500 in their own conference. IMO if you are not at least 500 in your own conference; then you should not get an invite as at large to the Big dance.

While I agree that some of the under .500 teams don't deserve to be in, I don't think that should be a prerequisite to getting in the tourney.
Murray isn't as good as some on here proclaim. They belong in the NIT if they can't win that conference tourney.

Even if you didn't allow sub .500 teams in, Murray state's not getting one of those extra bids. You're creating a rule that keeps Texas out and puts Illinois in. Just let the committee pick the best thirty odd at large teams and get of their way.

I simply dispise the automatic bid going to the Conference tourney champ. I think it should go to the regular season conference champs. That the team who gets it done for a whole season. Any team can get lucky & win a conference tourney but to me if you do not get it done in the regular season then....SORRY! So I'd like to see the tourney stop rewarding luck & reward a season.

Texas is one of the best 30 odd so at large teams in the nation. I think Texas and maybe OK ST are the only two being considered with losing records and both are 8-10 in what most consider the most "balanced" conference.
I do not think IU deserves in over Texas just because they went 9-9 in a much inferior conference.
The OVC, like any conference, can give the automatic bid to the regular season champ if it wants. It's the conference, not the NCAA who decides who gets the automatic bid..
Aren't Murray St. the idiots who won't play good teams because they demand a home game in return? If so then I don't feel sorry for them. When you play that weak of a schedule you need to go on the road and play a few top 25 teams. Show the guys who pick the teams that you can compete with the other tourney teams. Then you have an arguement, imo. That being said I would have liked to see them or EKU in the dance.
Its too late for this year but fans of OVC teams should insist on the automatic bid to NCAA go to season conference winner. That shows the strongest team over a long span instead of a one and done that can wipe out a great season. Someone should start a petition!
Then do away with the NCAA tournament....it's single elimination as well.
