Apparently the MCB had the highest viewership of any Bowl Game that was not a NYD Six Bowl or a Bowl on NYD.

Sarcasm aside, it is not altogether incorrect. TV audiences in and around the SEC tend to tune in when an SEC team is on. If you scroll down through the list you will see that on any given Saturday, an SEC game (or a game involving at least one SEC school) is among the top two or three.
I appreciate the OP sharing the link. Was wanting to look at that and do some comparisons to last year. Unfortunately, for whatever reason this link does not seem to include the other game on NYE or any of the New Year's Day games.
Don't think those numbers are completely in yet due to yesterday games...very interested to see the Alamo Bowl numbers
