We ran a couple nice pick and rolls that got Skelly a couple layups. But we don't really have a true post player right now with Pardon out. I think eventually Benson will be a decent post-up option, but right now he simply doesn't establish position on the block very strongly. Understandably, he is not quite ready to assert himself and demand the ball down low. That may come in time. He has a nice little hook shot and his free throw form is pretty good too. He'll get there.
I'm not sure it would have worked, but I think you made a decent point - it was worth trying given how badly we were shooting outside. One thing I mentioned recently in a different thread - I think we should try Vic in the post from time to time. He doesn't really have moves there yet, but when he is matched up against a guard after screens (or for a team like this, really anyone), he can just turn around and shoot over them.
