...would have been 89 today...born on the day of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, and he always claimed to be innocent!:)
He also married my mom on Christmas Day 1949, and died on tax day, 2008....he knew kind of the memorable days.

My dad was not a sports' fan per se, but he gave my self and my younger brothers the blessing to 'play'....he never interfered with a coach, never questioned our heart, only gave us the admonition to do our best at WHATEVER we chose. All three of us played college sports.

He was the greatest example of a husband possible. He treated my mom like royalty.

While he was not a SPORTS fan, he WAS a Husker fan, though not the kind that would dwell on either wins or losses...there were bigger things in life for him, I guess...

I find it very appropriate that the last game he saw in person was the miracle in Missouri, '97...he was seated in the end zone where IT happened. I love it. And the thrower is now our coach.
