Indeed, we (University of Louisville) will bounce back and I love sports. But, I love God, family, country, and education first. We all have to remember that education, morality, honor and integrity will always be more important than winning ballgames corruptly! Many have forgotten what the real mission of the University is. Coaches are way overpaid for what they provided to the betterment of society, students and society in general. The mission of any university is to develop leaders and individuals that will make the world a better place for humanity. It seems many educators have forgotten what a Renaissance Man is. Renaissance Men and Women are what Universities are supposed to be creating. Universities have never had The Mission of creating MLB, NFL, or NBA players, nor any other profession athletes! So yes the FBI is spot on about stopping the corruption. And Governor Bevin, Interim President Postel, David Grissom Chairmen of the Board of Directors, and the Board of Directors are all correct that a house cleaning and prioritising the mission of the university is in order.

Eventually the FBI is going to filter the investigation over to football, and it will be bigger than the basketball investigation. Just look at where some recruits go. It boggles the mind that a recruit would reject certain schools to attend other certain schools.
They are covering their tracks as we speak...It may not be as big as you think. Plus football is worth SOOOOOO much more monetarily and popularity that they may not want to know.
NCAA needs to stop allowing ESPN and Nike, Adidas and to a lesser extent UnderArmor from controlling college sports. But all in all, the NCAA is the worst run governing body in the world. Play the game and forget about money.
I agree with what you're saying but I think the perception is that it's not even across the board. I don't know if this is what tempted CRP to do what he did or if this has been his true nature all along.
Pitino learned his trade at UK and Crum learned at UCLA. Both schools paid players.
Probably because the FBI investigation will eventually end up on the football side of the athletic department too.
The spot of football is dirty too, but it's a different kind of dirt. The shoe companies have less sway and there is no AAU circuit. Whatever else you can accuse him of, CBP has always run a pretty clean program (if not a clean personal life, though hopefully he's a changed man) and I think we will be ok there. In fact, I don't remember UL football ever being in trouble from the NCAA, and that goes back to CHS. I think football at Louisville comes through this just fine.
Because we are Adidas associated and they are probably paying football players, too.
