My thoughts on tonight's game

My thoughts, which are about as valuable as a stick of gum:

Oweh - I think it's going to take a bit of time for him to catch his stride, and not feel the pressure of being the man, and preseason SEC POTY.
DA - I'm not sold on his offense, but I love his hustle and defense. He'll be interesting to watch.
Noah - How will he react to teams focusing on him?
Jasper - Will facing the pre-season #1 team be a big wake-up call? How will he react? Will he try too hard to prove himself? If he can play within himself and not force things, he will be a huge asset.
MO - He doesn't strike me as the type of player who feels pressure. He's just non-stop hustle. And I look for him to be a big reason why we win or make it close tonight.
Moreno - To my untrained eye, he already looks a bit better than BG. I wasn't hugely impressed with BG last year, other than in spurts. But we have 15 fouls to give in the post tonight, so I look for us to wear them down a bit.
Kam - Big unknown. I'm not sure what to expect from him, honestly. I hope he earns a bit of that draft status tonight, and all year!
Chandler - I look for him to be steady, but unspectacular. Maybe a highlight dunk at some point?

Wish we were at full strength, but still think we can win with what we have. Both teams full strength, I’ll take UK, especially by March. Purdue isn’t athletic enough to win a title IMO. They might make the FF, depending on matchups. A long, athletic team will give them fits. I suspect we will see some of that tonight. We are much more athletic than Purdue.

I don’t believe we can win without JQ and Lowe . Having four starters back that know your system is a huge advantage at this time of year. Especially when one plays point guard and is a first team all American. It’ll be like they have a coach out there on the floor . Doesn’t matter though. This game is for fun and team growth.

I am going to be the optimist and roll with the Cat's tonight.
Not sure why other than I am a homer and Rupp might get the team a few points tonight. It should be a lot of fun and that's the approach that I am taking this season. Let's have more enjoyment and fun with the team.

Definitely gonna be tough to get a W. Just saying I won’t be shocked if we do. Most people didn’t think we could beat duke so early last season either. We’ll see in about 3 hours.

Pope is so smart,I get a chuckle out of him and his comments. He says for the Purdue game that this is an incredible data moment. Only Mark Pope talks that kind of terminology 🤣🤣🤣

I'm pretty optimistic about the game. Not sure but I think we match up well with them. We're either bigger or just more talented(or both) at most every spot and I think we can hold our own or control the paint against their bigs. The big thing will be our defense with the size and athleticism we can maintain with our depth. Like last year, we will live and die with how we shoot the ball on O but our defense could be absolutely crazy good. Even without JQ. I'm betting the crowd will be raucous for #1 being in the House, exhibition or not. If we respond well, we can win this game. I'm going 83-74 Cats by 9! Gotta make shots at a decent clip.
