I am not "in the know". Do Nance and Beran share the same skill set? Any thoughts/guesses
as to progress Young Pete has made (beside weight gain) over last year? Thanks

i have heard Nance is still much more trying to figure out his game while Beran is much more of a stretch 4 like Shurna (not saying he will be as good as shurna)

So I hear that Nance put on some weight. When you say that he is trying to figure out his game, are you suggesting that he might have added weight to play some center?

maybe but not what i meant - i think he skill set is fairly unique for his size but not like durant who is a 7 wing skill player. i think nance can do a lot pretty well from different spots on the court - but to excel in being that guy you have to be exceptional. so figuring out how to be solid is hard when there are alot of areas to go from good to great in

Frank Kaminsky didn't do much of anything his freshman year either, so here's hoping Nance's trajectory somewhat approximates the rise of Kaminsky, who didn't fully break out until his junior year.

If I remember correctly young Pete played in very suburban H.S. league and then
'Travel" Summer Bball with H.S. friends (No AAU Ball) so some transition expected.
I remember someone "knowledgable" suggested Pete was a 6'10" kid who played
like a 6'4" kid :( I rooting for him to bust out!!

I suspect a lot of big guys are in the same dilemma trying to fit into today's game where so much focus is on the 3-point shot. Dererk Pardon is probably trying to redefine his own game as well.

Somewhere in Europe Luka Mirkovic is smiling as he jacks up 3's........

Nance could become Chris Collins signature story. He has the size, the outside shot and runs the court well enough. Needs the added stength and court experience against D1 competition. If a few of his shots fall early, add confidence Many players dont develop. He will. Miller Kopp just needed a transition year to college. Two solid players but key is who eill they be surrounded by. NU needs scoring from all 5 positions yo create opportunities.

Wouldn’t McIntosh be the signature story of the Collins era? Good player, significantly outplayed his ranking and offer list, led the team to their only tourney appearance?

I thought McIntosh was D1 ready as a freshmen, but I agree that he is the signature story of the first 5 years. I See First Dance storu as Collins claim and there were sevrral guys involved. Pardon actually more of the surprise. When Nance is a rotation NBA player, he will be the story of the next 5 years. He also will have to develop the most from FY to NBA. BMac was what he was. Nance has some family competition that will pull him along.

BMAc does have a new signature role. Recruiter. Tavaras Hardy 2.
Isn’t he DOBO or something like that? If so, I’m guessing he’s not doing much recruiting... unless he’s looking for NCAA violations. I’m no expert, but I believe the only recruiting roles are HC and the three assistants.

BMAC will recruit in the future. I think he will have a bright future as a coach. Also.. his presence on staff is part of the recruiting even if he is not the lead contact. A lot of the top players who sign talk about recruiting other recruiting other top players as they all know each other. That is 18 year olds recrutiing other 18 year olds.

Facilities do not recruit either but help get recruits. I hope BMAC eventually follows on the Tim McCarigle and Lou Ayeni path. Really nice stories for NU. BMAC Is a young guy. His playing days ended earlier than I hoped but great to have him back.

Yeah he was really good. Hard to imagine anyone currently on the roster passing him up, but I guess you never know

Yeah, if someone on the current roster somehow breaks his assist record, I don't think there will be any complaining on this board on the likely two additional Dance appearances we will have made by that time. But, to be clear, I don't see that happening-- hope I'm wrong!

I think he has exceptional vertical athleticism and would be really effective playing in a dunker role on offense and it would give us a lot more flexibility guarding PnR on D. Shouldn’t have to always play him at the 5 but I think the ability to have a strong small ball lineup really raises the ceiling for the team.
