While dabbling in a little nascar wagering today (I was bored) I noticed that Kyle Larson is having an amazing season and is a huge favorite to win the race today.

Wasn’t he the one who got cancelled though for using a racial slur while racing online? Just found it kinda funny/odd that he’s riding high on top of the sport barely a year later and you never hear from any of the others who have been cancelled.

Larson paid a big price and still is doing work in the community for the next few years required by NASCAR as a result of his suspension being overturned. Jeremy Clements said the same thing except in an actual race a couple years ago, just got 2 weeks suspension. Sure he owns his own team but that's irrelevant in terms of a suspension from NASCAR. Simple enough, talented driver with a lot still to offer and was made an example of by receiving a stiffer penalty being in a high profile ride than an Xfinity Series driver like Clements.

Rest assured no one outside of the niche NASCAR community has heard anything about him since his racist episode.

He didn’t get cancelled. Republicans have to be the dumbest people on earth. You know what happened. Quit showing your ignorance. It’s embarrassing to the people who live around you.
It's always interesting that some ppl assign political affiliation on something or a comment. In other words, anyone that doesn't participate in your groupthink is a republican. Real diversity of thought.

OT, but is John McWhorter a republican, bc he's clearly talking about ppl like you here

He seems to be sponsored by HendrickCars.com every race, and is (from what I’ve read) on the most team friendly deal in the sport. I’d say he’s paying a (close to fair) price for what he did, but I’m a big dumb liberal so what do I know?

Yep, and he's also been outside of some bad luck, the best driver on the circuit this year. At a certain point a sponsor is going to bite the bullet and spend money to sponsor the car, just because it makes business sense.

Larson can drive anything. That guy is an amazing talent. You could probably put him on a horse, and he would win the Kentucky Derby. I would like to see him drive an F1 car and see how he does against the absolute best drivers on the planet.

He was an idiot for saying what he did on national TV. But I think he has paid a sufficient penalty. It's probably still going to be somewhat hard to explain to potential sponsors.

I’m just thankful he didn’t suffer the danger that Bubba Wallace was in. True courage. Stunning and brave.

Absolutely shocking that in a thread about a dumbass who dropped the hard r on a livestream, a couple of you choose to bash the black dude who didn’t even report on the thing hanging in a garage. I’m being sarcastic. It’s not shocking.

People who group everyone into 2 separate groups and then act as if each person in one of those groups are all exactly the same are probably up there in the dumbest people on earth conversation.
