Well Desmond walking around at 138 should squelch any speculation of him being real this year for 141. I'll bet Mendez walks around at 150 or more and would horse him all over the mat. I didn't care who you are, wrestling 141 at 138 full feed, will be extremely challenging to AA.

I like having a backup for both 133 and 125 just in case this year, and Desmond could deliver at either.

His performance this season, vs Luke and
Vs other studs raises the question for next year. Might he go 133 and we shirt Blaze, assuming Ono is at 141? I suspect Ono will be 133 next year and Blaze shirts or moves up to 141. Maybe we shirt Luke and have Nate go at 125 next year?

What seems clear is Desmond is even better than his initial strong resume indicated, and thus the lower weight log jam seems worse that it did in October.

In terms of heirarchy for ability I would rate the following as our top 6 for the available 3 spots in this order.

Ono
Blaze
Lilledahl
Desmond
Davis
Nagao

Without shirting both Blaze and Lilledahl at some point, this presents an insurmountable problem. Even with shirts, there are at least a couple of guys that might look for a bag.

I haven’t listened to the radio feed of the recent matches. Has Jeff Byers mentioned anything about Desmond being the permanent option or is a redshirt still on the table?

He's gonna RS. He will be at the scuffle unattached 133. He will still have 2 dates available after the scuffle which won't count as a date
He weighed in at 137.5 today. By my math he isn’t allowed to wrestle 133 in two weeks.

Maybe something changed in the last week because after Wyoming that's what I was told he was gonna do . I haven't seen weigh in sheets for the event yet I was waiting until tomorrow so I could see them all

I could be full of baloney, but I think the Scuffle gives 2 pounds.
135 is possible in 9 days time.

But AI says "the main Southern Scuffle (the big college one) follows NCAA rules, so you're held to your weight class"

And it makes sense to me, because it wouldn't seem right for matches to count towards NCAA W/L records if they had a weight allowance Day 1.

I just did a search and it looks like the scuffle gives a one pound allowance on day 1 of the tournament. If true, Nate is good.

Don't believe AI. I don't believe anyone has a dual the day before. Maybe he isn't gonna go now or he goes 141

For 134lbs 12 days is possible, so would be ok for 14-day away southern scuffle, if it had a 1 lb allowance on Day 1.

But I only read scratch weight on Day 1 and 1 lb (maybe) on Day 2.

Where's a link that says allowance on Day 1?

Desmond father mentioned to a friend of mine that he was going up most likely after Black Knight Invitational. He still has his red shirt.
I'm wondering if it's a spot that might still be for Nagao or Davis.
I'm thinking Davis maybe was on "Double Secret Probation" the fall semester for giving up the takedown to the Campus Officer.😏

I thought you said he wouldn't be able to go 133 since he weighed 137 for last dual?

Why wouldn't Desmond wrestle 141 to get more matches at weight he might be needed.
He’s our main backup option for the lowest weights. He needs to at least weigh in down toward 133 to preserve a descent plan so he may as well get matches at 133. There is still some time to get to 125 if really needed. He’d need like 6 weeks at current weight.

With what Tull is and has gone through I personally am fine with him posting whatever wherever he wants.
thanks a lot still hanging in there feeling pretty good like I told people before they don't have to read my notes just trying to keep people updated anyways its wrestling he has to get his gas for the 3rd up a few matches he was winning and gassed in the 3rd and lost oh well he will learn
