Since Clemson's semester starts on Wednesday, they will be limited to 20 hours of practice/contact time leading up to the game.

Alabama, on the other hand, doesn't start until Jan 13 meaning they have no time restrictions on their preparation. I wouldn't put it past Bama to intentionally delay the start of the semester - at Saban's request - to skirt the rule. Football trumps academics every time in Dixie. And people wonder why their fans destroy things when they lose.

And just to be fair, Auburn started doing the same thing a couple of years ago.

Ohio State and Oregon had the same deal last year. Oregon started the first Monday of January while Ohio State had an additional week off before classes started.

I imagine that the only way this might be able to make an impact is through watching more film and possibly doing some more walk through type practices. I highly doubt the coaches will want their guys running practices too much differently than what they were used to during the season. Routine can be a pretty big thing, especially for mental preparation.

You "seen" some? Looks like you took the "Meh" approach to English class.

Was that his English or grammar class?

Most grammar classes end in middle school, but it is hard to use the Kings English when slang is so prevalent, ain't that right.

Most posters don't worry too much about that on a message board, unless they have a need to prove their superiority.

I guarantee you ever South Carolinian would argue with you that they definitely are in the Heart of Dixie
I lived in Georgia for 20 years and knew a lot of people in and from S. Carolina, and yes they would argue all day long they are in Dixie. Just as Southern as Georgia, Alabama, etc. And they are a football state as well. Maybe not quite as fervent as Alabama, but up there nonetheless.

U.K. starts their semester next week as well, it isn't uncommon. Sucks that students have to go back the Monday following New Years.

It isn't rocket science OP. If a school starts later on in January they finish later in May probably while Clemson will be done in April.

Alabama is the better team...doubt they need any help to win this game.

Say it aint so Joe. Not the same Alabama that used to stash football players on basketball scholly forcing the rule that states any scholly athlete that plays two sports one being football MUST be on a football scholly. That same Bama?

For having a reputation of not prioritizing academics the southern schools outsmart a lot of programs .
