come on now, we can't be using last week's jukebox for another weekend/week.

Today is the D-Day anniversary. Earlier this week was the Battle of Midway anniversary. Sex and the City premiered on TV on this date in 1998. The first drive-in theater in the USA opened on this day in 1933 in Camden, NJ. President Andrew Jackson took a ride on the Iron Horse (as train locomotives were called at that time) on this date in 1833, becoming the first President to ride a train. President Franklin Pierce was, on this day in 1856, denied his party's nomination at the Democratic Party national convention in Cincinnati, becoming the first sitting President to be denied his party's nomination for a 2nd term. On this day in 1971, "The Ed Sullivan Show" aired for the last time, ending a 23-year run on TV. Celebrate any of these events, PSU's big weekend of official visits, or anything that has you humming, singing, smiling, or dancing about today or this weekend.

Friday (6/6) was the birthday of the late, great, Levi Stubbles. He's known more commonly by his stage name, Levi Stubbs. He was a founding member of the Four Aims. He was still with the group, and their lead singer, when they changed their name to the Four Tops. And he was still in that role within the group when they signed with Motown Records nine years after they started in music. (Reportedly, he refused, out of loyalty to his bandmates, to ever have separate billing, like Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, or Diana Ross and the Supremes.) To celebrate, some of his/their top songs:

Friday (6/6) is the birthday of Terry Williams. He was a founding member, guitarist, and co-writer of most of the songs for the First Edition. Before that, he played with the New Christy Minstrels. (He taught fellow band member Kenny Rogers how to play the electric bass. The band was subsequently named Kenny Rogers & the First Edition.) To celebrate:

Saturday (6/7) is the birthday of Dave Navarro. While not a founding member, he was a guitarist, singer, and songwriter for Jane's Addiction during their most successful period, and after they re-united and wrote new songs. He also was a guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers after Jane's Addiction broke up (before re-uniting). To celebrate (I'm pretty sure he's in this video; way out of my area of knowledge):
