Ed DeChellis and his Navy squad just knocked off 25th ranked Virginia in Charlottesville 66-58. First ranked win for Navy since the David Robinson era. Navy down two key players (both potential starters) too. Navy was 15-3 with a win at NCAA team Georgetown last season, and this looks like Ed’s best team yet with lots of experience.

Virginia is such a weird program. They could lose to a pickup team in November, but you would't want to play them in March. This early, its a nice win, but if your a Virginia fan I wouldn't take too much from it.

Virginia was really out of synch on offense. This is likely Tony Bennett’s worst team in the past decade, and they are closer to a bubble team than an ACC contender.

But this Navy team is better than some of those other teams that pulled Power 5 upsets tonight like Western Illinois, UC San Diego, and The Citadel.

I feel great for Ed DeChellis, who is a solid coach and a better person, he's just not a P5 recruiter. DeChellis found a good niche at USNA, although his retirement is probably not far off.
