The amount of money owners would save by not paying 100 percent pro rated for MLB is a pathetic amount. All of them should be ashamed of themselves. They're about to lose one of their biggest fans.

Why are we waiting???? Get the show on the road already. I have seen with my own eyes it must be safe to gather in large numbers now and people are doing it all over the United States, make it happen already.

I love the NBA but it will be tough for them to go up against football. Will be interesting to see the ratings of an NBA finals game vs a random Thursday night sunbelt or AAC game. Will be really tough for NBA rating-wise if Lebron doesn't make it to the finals.

LeBron hot hosed in all this. He had a great chance to win a title this year...gonna be tough sleddin now. Everyone getting healthy and he is really getting up there. I think he has to win this year and question if his window is closed afterwards...I've come to really dislike him though so for me...whatevs.

I agree and I never understand why people side with the owners. They are basically guaranteed to make a ton of money and have their franchise appreciate in value every single year. They also are all worth an insane amount of money, losing a little one year during a pandemic to keep interest in your game and not try to squeeze every penny out of the players is a pretty simple sacrifice.

By the time football season starts around Labor Day I will no longer care about the NBA playoffs..
both good points. I wonder if they'll do everything possible to avoid conf finals/finals games on the weekend directly competing with football.

Don't you think since he is getting up there in age, the time off would BENEFIT him? They cut a decent number of games from what he would normally play.

I don't understand it either. I'm not interested in helping the owners make another dollar after this. F em

The thing is most of them made their money in something entirely unrelated to sports and helped employ thousands of people and provided real services and products to people. Owning a team is an investment and investments aren't supposed to lose money. Owners shouldn't have to sacrifice for players who are making millions of dollars a year trying to hit a ball.

on what planet are investments guaranteed not to lose money?

and which owners are selling their teams at a loss because of this?

they're not losing anything. their teams will be worth more tomorrow than they are today whether they play a single game or not.

the vast majority of players don't make millions. those who do possess the rare skillset which demands market value, which, by the way, was set by owners.

you can certainly 'try to hit a ball'. where are your millions?

get a clue.

Who makes them their money? Do people pay to see some fat old guy sit in the box or for the players to “hit a ball?” If you don’t want to invest in the players, sell your team for a huge profit and move on, other super rich dudes would gladly buy it.
