BTW, on that note, how DO you "start a conversation?" I've never been able to figure it out. I am PART of a few, but don't know how to START them. Do you have to be a paying member?

It has been a few years when I did it last. Some of the local scalpels were not pleased as they were trying to get them at face value and triple the price.
It may not work anymore with all of the people trying to get into a Duke game. Used to get into ACC tournament in Greensboro doing this.
I will not pay the crazy price of tickets in today's market.
Scalpels will lower their prices after tipoff.

I got into the FSU-Okla national champ football game in the early 2000s for 15 bucks by waiting until after kickoff. The guy sold at least 10-12 tix for 200 a piece in the hour before the game. I just stood there waiting and smiling. He had 6 tickets left after the anthem started and offered face value 90 bucks. I said no, ten bucks or you can just keep them. We finally settled on 15 bucks. He was so mad that I won.

Yeah, I was with some buddies and we had gone to the Outback bowl the day or two before, then decided to drive to Miami on a whim. We didn't even know there was a game in town until we saw the FSU fans walking around South Beach. We decided to just check scalpers prices and ended up getting three tix and parking for 50 bucks. My buddy got on ESPN patting Josh Hipul on the shoulder during the post game field rush. Money well spent. We were all wearing Gamecock gear.
