Flo rankings for the Big 12 came out today and if their rankings hold up we would qualify 9 with Harris the only one left behind. However Joe is now ranked 5th at 174 so he is on the edge of not qualifying.
Rankings by Flo:

157 Wyatt # 3

IMO this highlights the key to the next title: 5 returning AAs from this group. You don't win titles off of recruiting classes or freshmen, you win titles from developing talent and jumping to the next level. Sure 5 is a stretch from this group, but there are 5 capable. If peaking at the right time, doing the right things at NCAA to get 5 (or even 4) of these to the AA level then next year have a potential team with 7 to 8 returning AAs and a very solid lineup.

At this point I don't see why ranking matches matter or why we should care. The procedure for that last year was flawed, but that's another thread/post, but this year is different.

6! Only 6!? Man they really fell off this year, wonder if they'll even have a program next year? ;)
It’s being voted on as we speak whether to continue the wrestling program that is going down the spiral of doom with only six champions, or just do away with it in its entirety. We do have standards after all. :)

All joking aside, I’ve been on the fence with Rosselli in terms of where OU is versus where we thought OU could be when he was hired. I know we just had almost zero talent in the room when he took over. So I’m trying to be very patient.

But we’re really not tons better than we were under Cody. Dom is very good, Mantanona is becoming pretty good, and I like where Thomas, Madrigal, and Woodley is heading. I’d even throw in Jacob Butler is getting better. But that moves us into the top twenty at the NCAAs, but not much further.

I REALLY like who we’re bringing in in this class and next. A couple of really good kids, the kind that can collectively come in and upgrade a roster immediately. Added to the guys above, it’s a good look for OU’s future. So I’m learning to be even more patient. But that puts us two years minimum away from even sniffing the top ten, of everything goes right.
