Yep. Mastro and G got brutal draws but Fix and Plott got favorable ones. Kinda is what it is considering the performance.
Wish G could have been on the opposite side of the bracket from Yanni.
I think Mastro can make the quarters. Not sure if G can beat Murin. 4 top 10 seeds with a 3x AA Geer at 16. I think that’s pretty kind considering some of those losses. We could potentially get a lot of points in consi’s. Desanto got the 5th seed and will likely see RBY in the semis. Last time they wrestled Desanto got to his legs like 5 times and RBY stalled like crazy.
As suspected 2009 was a little bit worse.

This is also the first time since 2008 that we failed to qualify at least 9 weights.
Desanto getting the 5 seed is why we are seeing guys not wrestling for seeding purposes. He has 3 losses. 2 to RBY and 1 to Fix. If they want guys to wrestle you can’t punish them for losses to top guys.
But if he wins, he is likely the 2 seed behind Fix. And 3 and 4 seeds are conference champs of Pac and ACC
Also feel like if Brands told Desanto that he wasn't going to wrestle in order to protect a seed that Desanto may have beheaded Terry right there.
I don’t remember how many seeds they had in 2009, but think it was either 12 or 16 and the rest were random draws into the bracket, so while this number might reflect where they were on the bracket or rankings that year, you can only say we had 4 or 5 unseeded wrestlers in 2009. 15 would not be an avg seed.
But a similarly tough year as I think that was the last time we only had 1AA (Rosholt)
Does conference champ always get seeded higher than conference runner-up?
Desanto TF’d the PAC champ last year at NCAAs. He beat the ACC champ in 3rd place match.
Honestly if every Hawkeye received a bad seed for eternity it wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Just noticed this seed and it is egregiously wrong.
Surely RBY wouldn’t stall. Be un american of a penn st wrestler to do that.
