That part about it leading to fewer opportunities for HS students is obviously bullsh**. No one is talking about anyone getting more than their four years. We’re only talking about people who didn’t use their four years having a chance to use it if they want to (and obviously most won’t anyway.)

They’re trying to make it sound like it would just be NBA players landing in college and staying there perpetually, clogging up the system. Not even close to being on the table.

Stupid, money-grubbing, control freak, manipulative NCAA.

Why can't the NCAA create and enforce their own rules? I can understand the NIL thing to some extent, but every association in every sport is allowed to create their own set of rules (including eligibility). It's not like anyone is forcing these athletes to play for the NCAA.

Exactly. For the life of me I can’t understand why judges are supposedly striking down various rules of the NCAA. As you said, players CHOOSE to play college sports. They aren’t required to do so if they don’t like or agree with any of the rules in place.

Ummmmm.... Why do we not have a point guard added to this team yet then?

Why?

When we lose it's not going to be pretty because of this. We can add a player and we do need a player, we better go get one.

The NCAA is saying there's nothing we can do about it. Go get one of our x players or go get us somebody that's good. NOW

This may end up helping us —- the unprecedented level of insanity will lead to widespread support for legislation. I bet you this ends up getting tightened up by Congress.
Yeah in 15 years after they finally agree on what to do. Unless the NCAA is going to siphon money to a bunch of them they won’t care.

Mitch- “We are not going to break any self imposed rules that don’t exist yet! This is UK, players should be paying us for the opportunity to wear the jerseys!”🤣😂😁

The whole issue seems to be about what the legal system rules about being an amateur. Students' age has never been an issue. Is amateur really a thing ??

If all this ends up in Washington, then pandoras box will surely be opened all the way.
You get a politician involved and then next thing you will see is the influx of lobbyist all over the place and like any other issue we have in this country, it will all come down to who has the money to spend on it to control it. Think not, study our medical system especially the pharmaceutical part and all you will find is lobbyists buying what they want.

Except there are lawsuits right now to extend eligibility beyond four years...

Those associations have collective bargaining agreements. That's the one and only reason it's different.

I'd like to clarify my earlier post. I really don't want UK to get Hagans or Oscar; that would embarrass me. What I'd like is for the NCAA to stop being so useless. I just want a level playing field.

the score act will be challenged in courts up to the SCOTUS claiming its unconstitutional . Then we'll find out.

I dont know if its constitutional or not, im just saying some lawyers for players will say.

There has to be some way to get pro athletes to avoid college/university. Get the NBA to address this, get these kids to go pro right out of high school. Leave the dod-gamned college athletics alone!
