The SMU/ Miami (OH) game is tomorrow night. NC State does play tonight though. Unfortunately the typically boring 16 vs. 16 game is the other game tonight.NCSU and SMU get the ACC going tonight.
Hope they both win.
Howard wins and will play Michigan. Congrats Kenny BlakeneyBlakeneys team looks fresher and quicker than UMBC.
Lamb meet slaughter.Howard wins and will play Michigan. Congrats Kenny Blakeney
Anyone know what's with the rumors that Pat won't be available this weekend? As some including myself have said, this wouldn't surprise me. You don't go from still in a boot on Sunday to playing tomorrow.
To add to that, really reading between the lines- did you see his facial expression and body language when asked about him? If you didn’t, go watch the clip. I was one of the ones who was saying two weeks ago he was fine but that certainly changed after today.Jon with the same cryptic message as usual. I'm extremely disappointed smh
yeah. Not saying he’s being deceitful per se, but clearly something went wrong. If they know and are not saying it's deceitful. But we don't know that.
Totally understand but when a kid is on a scooter and has been for two weeks now, common sense from the other staff tells them he’s not going to all of a sudden be ready to contribute at this level in 3 days. I’d imagine OSU and TCU know they won’t have to game plan for him. This is a classic old school K strategy that Jon has adopted.
As a fan it's frustrating for sure. However, as a coach, it makes good sense not to share too much information with your competitors. Sienna is Sienna. If we can't beat them without Pat and Foster we should be in the NIT. But from the second round onward, it makes a huge difference on how teams prepare for us if they KNOW Pat is in or they KNOW he is out. Pat's presence changes the dynamic of our team immensely on both ends. So teams are forced to make two game plans which is even more challenging in this tourney.
Again, I don't like it as a fan, but it makes sense on a competitive level.![]()
I think we all believe that we can win without them. It's just that the margin of error is smaller but this is one and done territory unlike last week. Stakes are much higher now. Here we go again. We just beat 3 good teams on consecutive days to win the ACC Championship and now we can’t make it out of the first weekend without Pat.
I also don’t think Jon owes anyone an explanation on Pat’s status, especially the fans. All we should care about is winning.
If this makes it tougher on the opponent, then it’s a good strategy.
