NCAAT could expand to 76 teams

It's not great for the purists, but if it is "only" 8 more teams, I guess it would work. You would have a second First Four in a different location than Dayton (probably midwest/west). That would get 8 more at-large teams in the field (although are there really 8 other teams that NEED to be in the field). But likely more 16 vs. 16 teams at the First Four, which partially stinks for the little guy, but they can also earn money with a win, so maybe not all bad.

How much money is there to really gain by adding these teams? No one attends these opening round playoff games. There's no way the ratings for them are impressive. There are diminishing returns there every time they expand.
It's more about getting more room for at large teams which gives them a bigger chance to include fringe power conf teams with a much bigger following than the mid majors. It'll generate more revenue, but not sure how much. I'd watch if they let everyone in so doesn't bother me any lol.

The NCAA tournament is really all the NCAA has got revenue waise. they need to milk the tournament and march madness for all they can.

I'd personally love to see the NCAA itself go the way of the do do bird, and become extinct. But thats just me ...

the bracket/March madness is the only thing 99% of America care about when it comes of college basketball. 64 is perfect, it fits on one page for office pools and everyone can participate. Expanding it further imo would kill the perfection of it. Even 68 is really stupid

I get that the eventual winners don’t come from the bottom half of the teams, but I really love the 4-day blitz of games and all the upsets when Match Madness kicks off. Feel like we would miss a lot of that if it went back down to 32.

Exactly even tho the eventual champion is normally at the top, the first round you always seem some of the giants going down. People love that. That would be missing if it was back to 32.

I LOVE the first weekend of the tournament.

Don't think we need 76. but we don't need to go back to 32 either IMO.

Just in case someone that matters is reading this I vote 64...no more, no less. Whew, I now feel as though I did my duty as a NCAA Bball fan.
