Kansas just extended Lances contract, and honestly just like Steeleer said, that would be a moronic move. Lance actually addressed his goal is not to be jumping jobs every couple years, but we've heard that before and money talks, but Nebraska is or should be a hard pass..... for so many reasons.
Kansas plays Houston this week, so Im interested to see how they do vs Houston.... Did they blow their load vs WVU and show their entire playbook, we'll see.... It should be a good game tho. Houston does get the benefit of seeing the majority of their offense on tape now, so its not an apples to apples comp, but Id be lying if I didnt say I hope Kansas tappadatass
Troy, Jamey & Huff would probably consider it... Simply because the money would be so much better then what they are making now, but I think it will be hard for them to get a quality P5 HC there... In many ways, Nebraska is a tougher spot than WVU... Texas expectations with WV local talent...
Personally speaking, if I was a coach on the rise, I would rather coach Kansas(with nominal expectations) make $3m per year and turn the program around to at least be respectable and get something with a bit clearer path to success... a bit less restrictive.
Nebraska is not the same program it was 22+ years ago.... Kids alive now dont even know they use to be good. If the last BCS or major bowl win was in the 90's, your program is not on solid ground, no matter if you sell out every home game.... Sometimes a perfect storm of factors come together at the same time to make magic... Nebraska had a great run, but its over, and has been for a very long time. Dont get me wrong, every program experiences UP & DOWN cycles, but if your down cycle lasts longer than 20 years, than you're not the same program...
