Oof...I was hoping for a 3:30 kick-off since I'm bringing my 9 year old daughter to the game to make up for another game we missed earlier in the season.

Guess the good thing is that we don't have to get up early Saturday and can take our time getting up there.

Most students will be gone on Thanksgiving break with the university being closed the following week.
Yea, it will be a very small student turnout. A November night game is brutal for fans, but selfishly I’m happy with the 4pm basketball game.

State College hotel prices are ridiculous. Forget about football weekends. Even none event weekends cost over $300 per at a Super 8.
Out of control for sure. travel to all away games and experience nothing like it. Typing this from Kellogg conf center and hotel in east Lansing, which is their version of Nittany Lion Zion and paid $900 for three nights.

glad I have a home in state college. My mortgage is less than two nights at the Hyatt for a football weekend versus. Big 10 opponent

Yep. Was looking to come over for a weekend that basically was very low key. No football, no BJC event, no big educational weekend surrounding a commencement or something like that. Least expensive was like $289. Not paying $600+ to spend a couple of nights in SC.

Good point. Smaller student turnout at night than usual when it's a daytime kick, when it already takes a hit.
I'm sure they'll announce 105,000 as usual, but they will be disguised as about 85,000 actuals. Those weekends bookending Thanksgiving are always tough on attendance.

And then they will all b!tch and moan about ticket allocation not being fair. I lose sympathy for them when they don't show up. Either attend the games, ALL of them, and be on time for kickoff, or shut the hell up.

This is so f'ing stupid!! Should be noon kickoff. White Out over Thanksgiving break for a meaningless game is just a PSU marketing money grab.

Fox chose Rutgers-OSU (noon) because (gulp) OSU is No. 1 in the rankings, and they want their "Big Noon" game. CBS picked a #17/#8 matchup of USC @ Oregon for 3:30 - besides, CBS has already had PSU on at least 3 games this season. Neither Nebraska nor Penn State are ranked (Nebby is 7-3 and Penn State is 4-6) but both schools have big fanbases and should garner some decent ratings for NBC. This has absolutely nothing to do with a "PSU marketing money grab" other than the B1G TV contract. This game does have some mild interest in that if Nebraska wins, they could conceivably go 9-3, which would be a great record for them, considering recent years' performance. OTOH, if Penn State wins, they could conceivably go 6-6 and get to a bowl game, which would be quite a feat for them.

What do we think the Rutgres game time will be? I know its away but that game time is more affected by the holiday than this one IMO
