i know we have never had a TV thread before so I'll start us off. My TV went out last night with the "14 red blink" indicator going off. Instead of spending money on parts think I will get a new tv (because I'm a rich paddock poster). So rich, that my budget is probably in the 700-800 range. Recommendations on a new tv?

Check Dealnews.com, Kinja Deals, and Groupon.. I saw that LG was offering a $3,000 OLED TV for like $1,300 on Kinja.. just one day.. but that's an insane deal. Find out what range of specs and size you want and shop around.

From what I've been able to gather from past Paddock threads is that you need a TV that doesn't require a cord.

Hope this helps.

It's crazy the deals that are out there now. You can get a 55" led 4k for $500-$600 something ($300 something for a cheap brand). If that is only big enough for the bathroom in your mansion, it is only about $200 more for a 70".

See a deal buy it. Got a 58 inch Samsung back in December for $449. Very satisfied.

I know the OP already has one and I really don't have a recommendation.

But last week I wanted to upgrade the TV in my bedroom - I had a cheap vizio using an android TV box and a simple antenna.

so I went even cheaper and got a 39" Insignia for $149.

but what was interesting to me is that by switching out the TV (and not the antenna) I went from 22 OTA channels to 67.

And all 67 come in clear - and I was getting a good chunk of those 22 on the Vizio pixelated.

Now granted, a many of those 67 channels are garbage - shopping, religious, apparently 1 just shows old Wilbur the talking horse episodes on a endless loop as far as I can tell, but still - that's a noticeable jump in content - so much so it might make a difference in whether someone buy a cable package or not.
