I think we’ve seen enough to know Pope is WAY over his head. Regardless if they beat IU there is basically no offense even with Lowe. One-on-one contested school yard shots every possession. Looking like this could be one of the worst seasons in modern UK history.

The end record is to be seen. But going by the eye test it’s definitely the ugliest. And actually it is the worst start to a season that I can remember in my life. Maybe Billy G lost every big game but I don’t remember.
Clyde can coach. Dude had demons. But that man can coach. Pope is just…it’s hard to put a finger on. You have to be a certain level of prick to be a really good coach. Pope just doesn’t have it. Too nice and too nerdy.
It's absolutely brutal. Kentucky Basketball is the laughingstock of College Basketball. Not even the least bit competitive against other power conference schools.
Probation era team would run this team off the floor. Pope and Barnhart have absolutely destroyed the program.
No offense. All one on one moves and no passing. Taking shots you can take with 3 on the shot clock.
It's a different era of basketball. With superstar freshmen, the transfer portal, and NIL, there's no excuse for a school with UK's prestige to have long rebuilds and a year as bad as this one so far. This is the kind of season that will be brought up at every in home visit our rivals have with players we're recruiting.
I’ve said it ALL YEAR, there’s no movement at all without the ball. Against Purdue all five guys on the floor were constantly moving. It’s why Purdue couldn’t do a thing to stop us. Now four guys go to their spot and stand there waiting for the guy with the ball to make a move. It absolutely doesn’t get any easier to guard than that. If I see it then I know Pope does. Even Barkley mentioned it early in the game.
As I’ve said, we are in more danger as a program right now than we were during probation
I would do it after this season get a good coach before the unc and ku jobs open. I think the Iowa State coach is a good possibility.
It makes Billy Gillespie’s tenure look somewhat competent. That’s saying something
So if Pope sees it he can’t fix it? I’m no longer sure what he sees. I hate because after last year I was on of Popes biggest supporters.
I’m 78 and this is not the worst. The second half will tell the tell this season. You can’t go 1-9 and beat good teams. Or miss a bunch of free throws

We finished 9-16 just FOUR seasons ago. We started the season 1-6 and didn’t get our 6th win until February 13! We NEVER had a winning record, that entire season.
Some of you have remarkably short memories. We have won nothing of importance for nearly a decade. This IS modern Kentucky basketball.

There are those that disagree that says pope deserves a 3rd year and chance to assemble a better roster but here’s the rub. Hes having that chance now through recruiting and he is 0-fer. Giving a 3rd year to pope with zero momentum in recruiting is delaying the inevitable and relegating fans to at least another year of abysmal basketball. I like pope and hate it for him but it’s obvious he can’t do this.
Lowe is nothing more than a mediocre backup.

I honestly had that thought last week. I honestly believe Barney is getting kickbacks for this bad JMI deal. Also how did JMI and UK ever even connect? Were Rachel Baker (Barney minion) and her husband at JMI married prior to the UK /JMI deals? Is that how UK and JMI got connected?
There are SO many questions that should be answered. Everything is fishy as hell. Honestly wouldn’t shock me if Barney got kickbacks from Cal and Stoops on their deals too. It would explain the REPEATED incompetence on Barney’s part.

The Pope firing stuff is just ridiculous. I’ll laugh every time I see it. You all are ridiculous and just miserable.
And opposing coaches will be sure to ask HS recruits how much court time Jasper Johnson got while the guys in front of him struggled as much as he did.
Dang it must have been bad your first 25 years, because I am 53 and it it the worst for me.
That’s what I don’t understand. It took Barkley all of 5 minutes to diagnose the issue with the offense. Something would have to be seriously wrong if our staff can’t see it. Either they’re incompetent coaches or they can’t get any of the players to do what they’re told. Both are awful.
So in order to win our offense must resemble football. Whatever it takes I guess but this certainly isn’t a video game. We have ran zero pick and roll, or inside out game, it’s one on one cal ball.
So what? These is an NIT team. We are Kentucky. They suck. I hope they do win to at least salvage the Indiana head to head. But nothing about this team or this season is Kentucky standard. Nothing.
And I’m not going to back lowering the standards here. You can if you want to. Support 13-18 win seasons. That’s not Kentucky to me and I’m not doing it. It’s what Barnhart is hoping for so you’ll get more of it.
Having said that I want the win and happy with a winning result, but not happy with the situation or the effort and position we’re in at all.
We might win this game but it doesn’t do much to answer any questions about Pope, he has been lost
until Pope loses to Oakland or St. Peters in an NCAA game, or goes 9-16, I don't want to hear about never seeing it this bad

When it’s as bad as it is, it’s down there with the worst seasons in UK history. Right now that’s where they are. Anything more is just splitting hairs. Kentucky has been blitzed by every team with a pulse. That’s unusual for UK historically.
Indians sucks. But at least we weren’t back enough to lose to them at home. We need to get more out of everyone. Williams is going to have to start hitting shots. Oweh still can’t finish. Garrison is just bad. MO is starting to actually look like someone that deserves to be in the jersey. Glad with the win but grand scheme, not sure it’s going to matter until we figure everything out off the court and with Mark. But it’s definitely one of the worst teams thus far that I’ve ever seen at UK. Born in ‘85.
