Stevie Young on guitar. Angus and Malcolm's nephew. Was this recorded before Malcolm Young passed away? Or is someone else playing guitar?
Keeping it in the family, I love that.Stevie Young on guitar. Angus and Malcolm's nephew.
Other than the vocals... you really cant tell if a song was written in 1976 or 2006... I see that as a positive.I have to say that in a day and age when artist change genres and styles to adapt with the times AC/DC has stayed the same. A station could play a new song of theirs on the radio and 3-5 bars into the intro you know who it is. They have a signature sound and haven't caved to sounding like what radio wants them to and in turn have a loyal fan following that has kept them relevant and made them quite wealthy.
It's the same album they've recorded 17 times.I find the lack of replies to this thread very disturbing.
We are talking about a new album by AC f*****g DC guys!!
So Bon Scott sings?Hell yes!
I've been listening to it since yesterday and I really like it. I think it might be the best one since Razor's Edge.
It's the same ol' AC/DC so if you like that you'll like this album.
It's the same album they've recorded 17 times.
Once saw an AC/DC interview a number of years back and it was either Brian or Angus who said, You know that we aren't ever gonna slip in a ballad on you. So yeah, you always know what you are going to get with these guys and that's just fine by me.
Don't get me wrong, I love all 17 versions of the album. I think Malcolm Young is THE most underrated guitarist in history and there's not even a close second.I'm surprised it took as long as it did to get the 'they've released the same album ' comment. I mean, there's truth to it, but the people who love them, love them for who they are. I'm in that group. Having said that, Demon Fire is my favorite track off the new album and is probably the first classic AC/DC 'hit' they've had in years.
And to address the Bon comment above; I love Bon - Let There be Rock is my favorite rock song of all time, but I think at this point Brian is more AC/DC than Bon just due to longetivity. What might have been...
They had one good album after Bon Scott died, and have sucked ever since.
"Sink the Pink"... another hilarious title.Sink the Pink
Bad Boy Boogie
Flick of the Switch
You are so right!
They’ve always sucked.
Keep listening to moronic lyrics and the same two chords for 45 years... enjoy.Only snowflakes with objectively horrible taste in music will agree with you.
You can keep listening to Yanni and Kenny G.
Heard a great comment on AC/DC once. I can't remember what program it was, but it was one of those VH1-style countdown of greatest bands/albums/whatever... One of the guys from Anthrax (IIRC) said the best thing about AC/DC is they've been around for 40 years, and if you go to one of their shows, "you can bet your *** they're not gonna slip one @#^$^@ ballad in there on you."![]()
They brought nothing to the table...-my taste in music is beyond reproach. I've been a fan of "indie rock/punk rock/alt rock"...or whatever the hipsters wanna call it since middle school(82ish). I've played indie music in bars since age 15.
^point being i have "indie cred" im not a "classic rock guy" that hates on new/different music...flipside:just because something is popular dont mean its bad.
-all that said....AC/DC *is* rock'n'roll. The guitar tones are "of the gods". If you can't enjoy them...thats on you.
- uncharacteristically bad take, kooky.
Malcolm Young is responsible for more women shaking their asses than any guitarist in history. They brought nothing to the table...
Basic bitches.
you like simple? Choose Ramones.
You like dark and hard rock? Choose Black Sabbath
they are a British version of Aerosmith with KISS musical chops.
FIRE!!!
