#6 nationally just behind the dirty birds.

LSU and UF also getting national seeds out of the SEC.

Obviously, winning the UF series probably locks us in as a national seed, but we should also be rooting against the following teams: LSU, Clemson, Virginia, Wake, Long Beach, Stanford, Fullerton, TCU, UL.

I think after you get out of the top 4 spots it is so close that it is hard to call. One thing I don't agree with and don't understand is that Kentucky and Florida are just one game apart in the standings with three games to go and I somehow feel that they are a lock to be a national seed regardless of the results of the weekend while UK still has work to do. UK has, by all measures, only had one bad weekend. Florida also had a bad weekend losing at home in 2 of 3 games to Tennessee. Florida and UK shared two common opponents in the SEC West (Ole Miss and LSU). They both won those series at home with Florida getting one more win thanks to a sweep of Ole Miss. However, Florida got to play 2 more East teams: Auburn and Alabama. Auburn swept Florida on the Plains the first weekend of SEC play. That very same weekend Kentucky was in College Station sweeping TAMU. The big difference here is that UK had to play Miss. State at Miss State while Florida got the advantage of playing Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Maybe it is the OOC schedule, but I don't think that should have that much pull considering they have both played top 15 schedules, with UK going to be a top 10 after playing UF in three games. So, it just feels weird to me that they seem to be in no matter what while UK is on the brink.

Excellent post. I completely agree, and I think it's because UF went into the season as one of the favorites to win the title + UF has a great baseball pedigree while UK is a newbie. It's BS politics, but it's the reality until we prove ourselves in the postseason.
